NOT DO THAT!! The metal sheet is a current sensor in order to protect the power pack. If you try to add some solder alloy on it you will reduce the internal resistance and the short circuit current will be higher. Danger of Li Ion batery explosion!!!

But if you only use tin without that wire then the fuse should work but it would be more sensitive I think I only used tin and when the battery was plugged it stopped working

There is still a lot of thin copper spores that will burn before the battery exploded. As long as there is no direct Short circuit its not gonna explode. And if you remove after use, it’s completely save.

Hell yeah, lets kill fuse, because, you know, those stupid engineers. Aaaaand, LiPO batteries are not known to be very safe and never explode or caught fire or something like that you know, especially on such a top end brand like Parkside... It's nice to share tricks and all, but it is irresponsible to do it when it's dangerous and you have no idea what are you doing.

@Enicon And I think it's an ordinary fuse, just like the ones found in cars etc., protecting battery from going over it's C rating which can cause nice swelling at best and fiery display at worst. Typically Li-ion and Li-poly batteries charge status is monitored by their present voltage, not Amps usage. The only batteries I know that precisely monitor Apms used and Amps pumped in are DJI drone batteries which are helluwalot more expensive than Parkside.

@@josep.3364 Yes, yes, because battery with modified fuse is a bomb waiting to explode ESPECIALLY when just lying around. It only takes one look at it and BOOM! BTW - fuse here is "repaired", not "modified". Solder used to bridge the gaps has much lower melting temp than material used for fuse so if overloaded, it'll blow again much faster than original, even if applied layer is a bit thicker. Just some basic physics you'll hopefully get after holidays end. No need to panic. And I don't have to "modify" or "repair" any of my batteries because I don't tend to overload my tools.

You have amazing eye sight resistance meter. Physics , is that the science that explains lithium batteries, oh wait no? yes? Confused ? wonder if I ask a chemist about lithium internal chain reaction that can happen after a simple discharge. But that discharge event will never happen, there a very well designed fuse, silly me. Let's take a look at this parked Tesla for a day, with original fuses.

But its the one who uses this fix should be careful, and knowing it is fixed. So always take out the battery after use and it should be save. People who got a lot of money buy new ones.
