My review of the new Greenworks Pro battery operated electric lawn mower. This mower comes with two 80 volt batteries that work in tandem or separately to power the mower.
One thing I really liked about this mower is its mulching capability. It comes with a mulch plug and it doesn't leave excess grass clippings behind when mulching. Why would you ever want to use a bag again?! I have yet to use the bag for clippings because mulching the lawn seems to do a much better job, and provides the lawn with a dose of nitrogen from the mulched in clippings.
I also liked having bigger batteries for longer mowing time, especially with a larger sized yard to mow. The battery kicks over to the other battery when it is drained, which makes it so convenient. The turbo button on the handle is also a nice feature for those areas of the lawn that grow longer and thicker and need a bit more RPM from the blade to cut through.
This video is a follow-up on my original review of the RYOBI battery-operated string trimmer and fan blower. My goal was to determine whether I would use electric garden tools versus traditional gasoline powered tools. My answer to that question from my reviews of these products is YES. I like the convenience of battery operated better than gasoline. I chose to get the Greenworks Pro mower instead of the Ryobi because of the bigger battery size and because it comes with 2 batteries instead of one 40V battery. So far, so good. It is a nice machine.
