RIP Naya Rivera. Interesting fact: Calendar Man was voiced by David Dastmalchian, who also played Polka-Dot Man in the live action The Suicide Squad. There was a scene in that movie where Polka-Dot Man was leaving his jail cell, and Calendar Man was talking crap to him. Such an odd coincidence.

Jensen Ackles really does Batman well. I was surprised how good he sounded.

I think he’s okay. He’s a much better Red Hood in my opinion just because he brings a lot of emotion and range in that role more. He’s one of the few actors to play Batman who sounds forced in my opinion.

This film is the third film in The Tomorrowverse. The Tomorrowverse's first film was Superman: Man of Tomorrow. It was followed by Justice Society: World War II, Batman: The Long Halloween - Part One, Batman: The Long Halloween - Part Two, Green Lantern: Beware My Power, Legion of Super-Heroes. Next up there is the film Justice League: Warworld that comes out later in the year.

It’s not called the “Tomorrowverse”, that’s just a stupid name some fans gave it like Arrowverse, just because Arrow was the first show or in this case, Man of Tomorrow was the first movie. But Long Halloween was originally intended as the first, but was pushed back to come out closer to The Batman. If it was first, people would call it the Halloweenverse. It’s stupid. Just call it the New DC Animated Movie Universe.or NDCAMU.

The Long Halloween is easily one of my favorite animated Batman movies. It's so good!

Jensen and Troy both should be cast in the new DCU movies as Batman and Joker respectively. I feel like they could do amazing in live action as well

1:40 This is one of the reasons why I prefer the Tomorrowverse over the DCAMU it's art direction and depiction of the DC universe. The DCAMU lacked alot of personality when it came to it's cities and other aspects. Everything kind of looked too basic and generic, Gotham never looked like Gotham City and Metropolis never looked like Metropolis everything just blended together with the same building designs and architecture. But the Tomorrowverse Gotham and Metropolis in Superman: Man of Tomorrow look amazing with Metropolis having a more retro futurism look to it. I love the very timeless Dark Deco 1930s feel of old meets new where there's 1930s/1940s inspired vehicles and fashion alongside modern tech very similar to the Batman Animated Series. This is how I want the DCU to look like go all in on DC being it's own universe with unique cities instead of trying to turn them into basic American cities like seen in the DCEU. I also love how the DCAMU was all New 52 inspired stories while the Tomorrowverse pulls heavily from Post Crisis stories.

This is one thing I’m very serious about when it comes to animation and live action. Especially Gotham. I’m very particular about how Gotham feels. It can be designed two completely different ways, but it MUST feel like Gotham.

I love Jensen as Batman. Should definetly be a consideration for the live action Batman or a consideration as the new staple VA now that Kevin is gone

I really like that they added Alberto trying to kiss Selina and it being super weird and awkward, since in the comics they are step siblings, it’s a nice touch.

Jensen Ackels is a dope sounding Batman. I'd love to see him as live action Batman. And for me, this type of era is perfect for Batman stories. Modern day is "meh" nowadays.

Coy was a good edition to the channel. He has good chemistry with Greg and John. It now seems like the channel was made to have three rejects. Of course, Greg and John are still the OGs, lol, but Coy is joining right along!😆

I’m SO glad you guys checked this one out! I liked The Long Halloween comic better overall, but I think I prefer the more simple ending we got here. I also recommend you react to the films: - Batman: Year One - Mask of the Phantasm - Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker Teen Titans & Young Justice are also worth reviewing, as well as the 90s - 2000s DCAU: - Batman: The Animated Series - Superman: The Animated Series - Batman Beyond - Justice League - JL Unlimited. The “Harley Quinn” animated show is almost like an Adult Swim parody of Gotham & I guarantee you guys would find it hilarious. King Shark, Bane, Clayface, & Jim Gordon are great in it. As for Marvel: - The Spectacular Spider-Man - Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes - X-Men: The Animated Series

Tim Sale was huge about the dichotomy of space and shadow with his art. You can see it in a big way to the follow up to Long Halloween; Dark Victory. The large and dark force that is Batman paired with the smaller but intensely bright Robin. RIP.😢

Man, I don't know if I was just in a bad mood when I first saw this but I liked this one so much more on rewatch! The Tomorrowverse art style works especially well here!

Im a massive fan of the Long Halloween story and it might be my favourite Batman comic in general, Tim Sale was one of my inspirations as an illustrator and artist myself, and this movie adaption in the Tomorrowverse was a really good adaption that even though it takes creative liberties with he story, I still love how it handles the story and the animation, voice acting and characterisations are great. RIP Naya Rivera and Tim Sale

Technically they're going in order if you go by WB's original plan. This was supposed to be the first movie of what fans call the "Tomorrowverse". They just choose to delay it's release to sync with The Batman.

This is one of the best origin story of "Certain someone" that's not Batman, it make lots of sense, and show us his true motivation. The animated film itself is one of the best Batman's animated film out there, the design are so on point and stick to the original from the comic. One of the best villain of this film is Calendar Man, this version of him is the best, it show us a true serial killer vibe from him.

This is part of the Tomorrowverse which starts with Superman: Man of Tomorrow. It also includes Justice Society WWII, Constantine: The House of Mysteries, Green Lantern: Beware Power, and Legion of Superheroes so far!

The excitement I get seeing Coy and John uploaded another video together

The DCAU had a good art style like N52 but this art style blows it out the water. Now this is new era, the Tomorrowverse

My vote for the next movie is Superman/Batman: Public Enemies

Tim Sale also did the Art for the series Heroes in the 1st season ( there was a character who's power was to be able to paint future events. ) back when the show was really fun.

Haven’t seen anyone mention this but be sure to check out “Constantine: The House of Mystery” before starting the Tommorowverse movies. It acts as a epilogue to the DCAMU and includes some shorts that I think Coy will appreciate as an avid comic book reader 😁

Batman The Long Halloween is my favorite Batman story. I have the graphic novel. I read it once a year. Writer Jeph Loeb & artist Tim Sale knock it out of the park with this story. It's a great mystery & has some great twists & turns. The Animated movies are absolutely fantastic.

The long Halloween Pt 1 and 2 are actually apart of the Tomorrowverse so after pt 2 check out Superman: man of tomorrow, and there are a handful of films after that in this continuity it’s still going so far

Hey guys, just so there is no confusion I just wanted to let you know that the DCAU (DC Animated Universe) is the one that is consisted of Batman The Animated Series, Batman Mask of the Phantasm, Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero, Superman The Animated Series, The New Batman Adventures, Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman, Batman Beyond, Batman Beyond Return of the Joker, Static Shock, Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. It is the only continuity that is referred to as the DCAU. The other animated films are either in their own continuity that is not called the DCAU or just stand alone that are not in a named universe.

the only clear difference between how Jensen voiced Batman and Bruce is that there is a layer of angst and bite to his Batman voice, which he supresses as Bruce, but which sometimes comes to the front when Bruce is angry or sad. I initially was wary but now I feel it's such a real way to voice such a character.

Yes, Naya Rivera did complete all of her voice acting spots for these movies before her very untimely passing. this is actually the very last thing she completed before she died. the movies were just in animation/post production for a long while before they were released after her passing.
