I’m not going to start reading this until I have the entire series in omnibus. But I’m sure excited for that to happen.

Contagion, legacy, murderer, fugitive would be great follow ups to this.

Its finally here, I can hardly believe it. I still remember the exitement of reading these in singles. I remember getting every single issue, no small feat while living in Mexico with no distribution. Thank for the overview and all your hard work as always!

I really really hope we get more.

90s to early 00s is my favorite era of Batman comics. Can’t wait to get my copy in the mail. Hopefully that No Mans Land is around the corner. I was in JHS when this was running and it really helped shape what Batman is to me.

Man there’s a helluva art cast in this book. I love it! Binding doesn’t look incredible, but it looks like something that will do much better on a read through. Great vid, Omar! Take care & algorithm gang! :)

I totally agree!

I sadly skipped the whole event when it happened, I was still buying comics but my budget was just $20 a month at the time. I couldn't afford any of the big crossover events or anything like that so I stuck to Image and other independents where I got the whole story in just one monthly book. So finally reading this will be a treat. Can't wait for the next Omnibus!!!

Most omnis I buy I’ve already read in trade or single issues. Which is why I’m super hyped on this one because I’ve never read this event. This review has pushed my excitement to a new level. I can’t wait for No mans land omnibus. Best reviewer in the game.

@@omarreyesjr1920 yeah I sell mostly on ebay. I agree the fee is a killer but the easiest way to sell. I also use the comicswap reddit but harder to sell there as there aren’t as many eyeballs.

@@omarreyesjr1920 it depends. For these three trades I sold them for $85 since cataclysm is a bit more rare. I agree though that with most trades it’s hard to come out ahead. After eBay fees, PayPal fees and shipping came out to about $68 which was basically the price I paid for the Omni so worked out. I think anything less than $50 and the fees really hurt.

A few months ago I got all the tpb's so this isn't really on my radar but I'm still happy they made it. Looks beautiful. If you haven't read this story, it's so good. Don't miss out! Btw, Idk what issue it was but the one where a man whose kid says, "catch me daddy" and he loses his family is absolutely heartbreaking and tough to get through.

Okay Omar!!!! You need to see this, and tell someone at DC!! This is great we got this omnibus, it would be cool to get a contagion and legacy omnibus, but there is still an AMAZING chunk of Batman missing that could get an awesome Omni treatment... Doug Monech and Kelley Jones’ run from like 516-552!!!! Picks up right after knightfall!!!! I know they released standard size hardcovers years back, but vol 1 is out of print and it would be great to get Jones artwork oversized. Hell, they could throw in all the elseworlds vampire Batman stories in it too since it’s by the same author and artist.

I know there are some amazing books. We still need something post crisis....but I guess that was the job of Caped Crusader and Dark Knight Detective are supposed to be.

Love the cover under the jacket. Looks more like a classic Vertigo book.The end pages look great too.

Went through the three TPBs and the Omnibus has the exact same 48 issues mapped in this exact order, but this Omnibus is a beauty! Would have been a day 1 purchase if I didn't have the TPBs. As Omar noted, I saw the one issue missing from this Omni is the No Man's Land Secret Files & Origins #1 issue, which will likely be in the next Omni. Outstanding binding and a steal if you got it at 40/50% off!

It already annoys me that they are using the new52/current Batman font on the jacket and hardcover considering this was a 90s story...

I do like with this and the Paul Dini omni logo has Batman’s silhouette

I had never read this before. So initially I wasn't interested. Started it today and can't put it down.

Mmm-mmm, that looks meaty. It's being weird online for ordering. Maybe they got it sorted now or soon. There's some stuff coming out early next month that I may wait to get them all together. Wish DC would do the Contagion/Legacy into one big Omni. But I'm looking forward to this book if it means we'll get the entire NML run. I want every single issue. I loved how the story shook up the dynamics of nearly every character. And I'm a post-apocalypse fiend and I loved how it snuck into my favorite characters world. But honestly, everything in Batman since Knightfall up to NML was perfectly executed and probably set the template for later comic events that seem to be the norm these days. But in the 90s it was done with some class. And much of that can be credited to the late, great, and legendary Denny O'neill. Bob Kane may have created Batman, but Denny molded Batman into the character we know today. And he did a damn fine job of it. For me the big 3 Bat-artists in the 90s were Jim Aparo, Norm Breyfogle, and Graham Nolan. Plenty of other great artists did fantastic work as well, but those guys put in the time. Well monkey turds, I could talk Batman all day. I'll be happy when I have my copy of this Omni. Thanks for the upload.

My first contact to Batman was through his comics, and the first arcs I ever read were Knightfall, Contagion/Legacy (good old 90's). I have all 3 Knightfall omnis with me, but I don't know where to look for Contagion/Legacy.

Glad I grabbed it. And yes, that solicit in the back is new. Feel like it's hopefully a sign of how things are going to go or at least is was at time they sent to printers. Who knows what's going to happen to DC next year. I want them to still be around and continue these books and characters. Got JLA from your overview too. Forgot about Rock of Ages being in there and yes next to Tower of Babel. 2nd favorite JLA story.

The comic is great.

I am lost in the publication of all of this. So they re-released Contagion and Legacy in TPB over the few last years, they release this in Omnibus, and then there are the orphan Detective Comics issues between Legacy and Cataclysm released just recently in a standard sized HC (Knight Out). It is all different formats. I hope at least we get the main No Man's Land event in omnibus as well...

Can't wait for this one. It's in the mail and on it's way to my shelf!

Looks like a beautiful book. I picked up the trades from cataclysm to no man's land v4 over the last couple years. So I won't be replacing those, but I'd recommend this omni to everyone who hasn't read it yet. To be honest, I think I enjoyed this omni's half more than the No Man's Land half, but it was all a good read (with a gut punching ending, without spoilers.)

Hey Omar. Great video. I own all of the Cataclysm & NML trades but have yet to dive into them. As nice as the Omnibus is, I will stick with my 7 trades. Besides they've also included part of it in the Eaglemoss "Legends Of Batman" HC series which I collect as well. Book looks fantastic but even more reason to get reading the trades. Cheers mate.

So I never bought any batman omnibus and i'm thinking about buying one and i'm kinda lost with these omnibuses. Omar help please! Where should I start? Note: i'm only intrested in the modern style not really a fan of the old comics style wise.

My experience ordering omnibuses from Amazon... half of them are damaged and get replaced or refunded. Can anyone's who's purchased from cheapgraphicnovels confirm they package their boxes correctly? So tired or rolling the dice. And this seems too good to be true, especially with lower prices.

I get the books I buy from them exclusively and they package them properly. I’ve never had an issue with them. The only thing is amazon has really spoiled us on 2 day shipping.

@@forsakenV12 I can’t possibly afford all the books that comes out, even tho I want most. I live in Turkey and because of curreny gap I pay astronomic prices for the books, besides I always pay the cover price unlike many ppl buying for super cheap ridiculous prices. So I had to pass uncanny x men omnis, I know they will reprint those again, same with no mans land they will reprint every Batman title at some point. I have too much Omnibus to buy and always for the cover price plus the currency gap, I wish I lived in US I would buy all of them.

I fully expect this book to go OOP before I can snatch it up, but if by some miracle its still in print later on I'm gonna grab this bad boi up!

Some letters are missing in my copy. For example page 20 : "Sure he was ig and scary d mean." instead of "Sure he was big and scary and mean". I found at least three misprints like this in the first issue. I hope the rest is ok... :(

I really do. It's a wonderful story by Busiek...like hidden years. I love it.

Omar I appreciate your efforts. The channel is informative. However it is part of the hype train, it's aimed at people, like me, who love buying comics. There is nothing wrong with that, but it means that things get very uncritical reviews. This book will have a number of issues that are borderline unreadable. For instance I bought the Simone Red Sonja book, you described the art as beautiful. Without the hype at best the art could be described as passable for a small comic label with very limited funds
