Ryan Reynolds, who played the protagonist, famously hated the movie. He has admitted to having a poor working relationship with director Martin Campbell and was glad to see the film perform poorly critically and financially, as he did not wish to reprise his role as the Green Lantern. In his later movie Deadpool (2016), he references the Green Lantern in a negative way when he requests a suit that is neither green nor animated while being rolled into the medical room on a gurney; in the sequel Deadpool 2 (2018), he goes back into time, preventing himself from ever taking the Green Lantern role.

This is how it should've ended, almost a perfect movie, just needed the Green Lantern cameo.

Snyder actually intended for GL to meet Bruce at the end. The studio said no, so he made Martian Manhunter to meet Bruce and warn about the invasion.

Ok, I must admit, I had to understand Zack Snyder’s plan for Superman and the Justice League from the beginning. Also, I’m a BIG fan of Batman and the Green Lantern Corps! John Stewart is my favorite Green Lantern, and he deserves the important live action treatment! John Stewart has been a fan favorite Green Lantern since the animated Justice League series! Wayne T. Carr deserves justice as John Stewart/Green Lantern! And furthermore, Zack Snyder MUST see this! I actually respect Zack Snyder to be honest, for it was he himself who cast our DC characters, especially the DC Comics Trinity! To be honest: I’ve been wanting and waiting to see a newly rebooted Green Lantern Corps film starring John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, and a new Hal Jordan. Superman and the Green Lantern Corps NEED their proper films made and told as well. We can support their developments fellow fans. All we have to do is be professional and supportive. And remember, patience and kindness bring benefits. BEWARE MY POWER, GREEN LANTERN’S LIGHT!!💍💚🖤🤍

Wow I love to see DCEU expand with more of this. Better Green lanterns than the 2011 version(s) and a cinematic Martian Manhunter are a good start of making DCEU look better and more fun than it is now. @@qasimhussain1678 James Gunn's DCU. DCEU is ending this year while DCU is about to begin. I love to see James Gunn bring the whole bat family to life in his DCU. And he can do them all justice. Batwoman (Kate Kane) deserves to be portrayed wonderfully and epically after what CW did to her character. Batwing deserves to be portrayed as a desperate and brave bat warrior after being portrayed like a wimpy geek in CW. Nightwing and Red Hood can be as epic as TMNT's Leo and Raphe having the NIghtwatcher fight. Batgirl deserves another and better chance after being canceled. And Here are my cast ideas for the bat family in James Gunn's DCU. Dylan O'Brien as NIghtwing, Nick Robinson as Red Hood, Chloe Moretz as Stephanie Brown aka Spoiler, Mackenzie Davis, Kristen Stewart or Wallis Day as Batwoman (Kate Kane being done right for good this time), either Finn Wolfhard, Stewart Allen, Zach Callison or David Mazouz as Tim Drake, Jacob Trembly is perfect for Damian Wayne, either John Boyega or Corey Hawkins as Batwing (Luke Fox), Leslie Grace, Morgan Turner or Sami Gayle as Batgirl (Barbara Gordon), Alex Roe as Azrael (Jean Paul Valley), and birds of prey's Cassandra Cain. And my plot idea for the whole bat family in James Gunn's DCU is that they protect gotham from an arkham breakout caused by Hugo strange (played John Goodman) and Black Mask 2.0 aka Dr Jeremiah Arkham (played by Jason Clarke). And another plot idea I got in mind for the bat family in James Gunn's DCU is that in a third suicide squad movie, batwing fought deadshot after Deadshot accidentally shot Lucius Fox while trying to shoot someone else and than Luke Fox undercovers as deadshot in the suicide squad and when the plan goes side ways the rest of the bat family come to back batwing up against the squad going off script. And Mr Gunn can even direct a film based batman battle for the cowl.
