    The Riddler is a weak villain physically. He's also been depicted cowardly in many stories. His strength is his ability to play you from a distance. The Riddler is like that guy who always yells and insults his opponents in online games and considers himself the best, but takes a dump if he's approached by a stranger asking if he has some light.

    Back in 2011, this was the first Batman story I read after a 30 year hiatus from comics. Was floored by this story and the artwork. Couldn't believe how far comics had come since the old O'Neil/Adams days. A lot Bat snobs seem to hate this story and how "commercial" it is, and they're not wrong. Since reading other stories like Long Halloween, Year One, Dark Victory, I can what they mean. Nevertheless, Hush gave me a crash course on what I've been missing out for so many years and I've been hooked on reading Bats ever since.

  • @Gadget-Walkmen

    @Gadget-Walkmen

    Жыл бұрын

    LOL What? They ARE wrong as nothing of it is NOT "commercial" it is in the slightest as it's a modern NEW Batman story for new audiences to come in and for old batman fans alike in a perfect combined way for people to remember the character and world in action. The artwork is phenomenal and the story is great as a whole! No idea on what they're talking about as Batman Hush is a fantastic way to get back into Batman comics and world! 10/10 Phenomenal comic as a whole from the whole package deal from how fantastic everything is.

    I like the ending to the comic better. The ending in the movie felt sort of contrived because Selina knew about Batmans Rules or code, it shouldn't be a surprise that Batman won't let anyone die if he can help it. But in the comics it's his deep seeded mistrust with not only Selina but with everyone else that surrounds him. He doesn't fully trust anyone.

    Akkbar actually pretty much anything is safer than KZread. Outside of YT a copyright claim actually requires a lawsuit. otherwise YT simply makes the decision they want, regardless of actual copyright law. Also it wouldn’t be necessary to sell the app itself, because you could sell ad space which isn’t selling the content. Tldr: Copyright in the real world is a lot more complex and nuanced than KZread would have you believe.

    @@Gadget-Walkmen I wasn’t looking for it to be completely true to the source material. If it was, that’d be a little boring seeing as it doesn’t try to do anything new or unique in order to make itself stand out from the source material. I’m fine if it changed a new few things or if it tried to tie in to the expanded DC animated world that was happening at the time. My main problem was who ended up being Hush in the end. For the sake of spoilers for whoever is reading this comment, I won’t say who it ended up being Hush in the movie, but from what I remember, it isn’t who it was in the comic. I could be wrong about that, seeing as I haven’t seen the movie in nearly two years and I’m not exactly aching to watch it again and waste almost an hour and a half on something I don’t want to see.

    @@kowxley1793 The movie wasn't good...very forgettable. They should have used Jim Lee as the artist, got some better voice over actors, and kept the writing that was in the graphic novel instead of exchanging what was good, for what was poor. Maybe when Bruce Timm leaves, and gets replaced we will get better material. I feel like his best work is behind him. He seems to be the common denominator with all the slew of poor products. Paul Dini though is still a good writer. The relationship between Catwoman and Batman was better in the Batman: Telltale Series games.

    @@wanded Except they just kinda tossed the Riddler into the story and had to explain the twist with exposition. A twist isn't very clever if the medium has to stop for five minutes to explain said twist. Granted, this is the same movie that managed to make Poison Ivy boring and unsexy.

    @@silverblade357 Agreed but in this era even just a twist the viewer can't catch himself beforehand (which isn't out of nowhere completely) deserves applause, people like us already consumed enough media that it's hard surprising us even a little at this point.
