On October 31st, I waited for 3 hours outside my tiny ass town's video store waiting to rent this. They opened the doors, I ran inside & NO copies available! Just 1 copy of Batman Forever playing on the TV set in the store. All the store employees (who had took a copy home early) had forgot them at their houses! So I sat my angry fanboy ass down, right there in the store & watched Batman Forever TWICE until one of the lazy girls walked the whole 4 blocks to her house & brought back her copy

Are you sure the street date was October 31 1995? I mean it is possible since that was on a Tuesday and a Tuesday is when a VHS release usually happens like how a movie is released theatrically on a Friday or a Wednesday.

This was a common thing back in the VHS video store days, owners of the stores used to choose what they wanted to have and each studio had to hype their films over their rivals. This was only for owners to watch. Batman Forever was the dominating movie of Summer 1995 so it was expected to dominate the market when it was released on video. WB went all out on it like they were expected to do. They made a good chunk out of rentals and buys as well.

I love how they use Danny Eflman's theme, when they did not use in the final film. They also seem to be using alot more info \ stats (albeit if its not all true) in this ad...most commercials these days just use reviewer's quotes, if it won any awards and maybe some box office numbers.

But to Kilmer's credit he did try playing Batman and Bruce as distinct characters, as opposed to Clooney who was just playing himself.

@snakes3425 Given your list, you're really just a fan of four films, the animated series and one video game...but not of the Batman character or his 70+ year history. Oh and no honest Batman fan would be stupid enough to pass judgment on what's the right way or wrong way to portray Batman...because there's no such thing. Every incarnation of this character is valid. The ONLY reason Batman exists today is because of that constant evolution and his multiple incarnations.
