    When last I uploaded a video I said that I'd been having some mental issues. I've joined a few gaming, dining, and movie social groups, and the social interaction has helped immensely with my anxiety- but I'm still having slumps of depression. I've been taking Melatonin supplements for years and I recently learned that not only is Melatonin not meant for long term use, but you're not supposed to use it if you have a depressive disorder. I've cut the Melatonin and I'm hoping that helps- if it doesn't I've got the numbers of some psychiatrists to try. In the meanwhile, spending Christmases with the family has given me some badly needed and cherished good days. So have a good holiday, and here's to a happy new year!

    I find Forever to be extremely underrated. It seems to be the movie that’s forgotten when talking about Batman. Everyone talks about the Nolan films or the 1989 film. Val Kilmer was a good tragic hero that played Bruce Wayne perfectly.

    4:01 I see your point, the Burt Ward outfit does look more appealing, but Burt Ward’s costume actually did have pants, it’s just they were flesh colored to look more like the comics. Burt Ward would’ve been freezing his a** off if the costume actually was pants-less. It’s hard to tell due to old video quality back then, but you can kind of tell that Robin’s “legs” are actually made of cloth. Look closely at the image and you’ll see the wrinkles around his knees. Anyway, great video!

    As a kid I remember the whole superhero genre being basically very hit and miss. It was nothing like the MCU or DCU today. Basically if we wanted a Batman movie......whatever we got was it. It may have been totally ass backwards to all we knew of the character but it was the best we were gonna get. When Batman first hit screens, I was very excited about it and came away from the movie quite thrilled, I saw Batman, Joker and the Batmobile.....checklist complete. That's all it took to make me happy. Batman Returns I remember my mother being very pissed at how violent that movie was when she took me to see it at the cinema. She kept putting her hand in my face to shield my eyes when really violent parts came on. She was also shocked at how dark the characters were, Penguin being very dark and quite tragic instead of the lighthearted criminal from the Adam West days. Today my mother and I both love the film and she is appreciative of Danny Devito's acting for the character. Yes, I do like Batman Returns and Batman 89. I also agree Catwoman's outfit is awful. God awful. Michelle Pfeiffer is hot (still is hot), but the outfit was awful. Batman Forever is pure 90's nostalgia for me. I would have been say.......12 when that was on. Anytime I watch it now I'm taken straight back to the 90's.......for good and for bad. Nicole Kidman for example was cast simply for being hot, her character was useless other than that. She was eye candy for the dads and horny teens.....pure and simple. Batman & Robin was memorable for 3 things.....first Arnold as Mr Freeze, 2. Uma Thurman as hot Poison Ivy, 3 Alicia Silverstone in that tight Batgirl gear and all the shots of her butt. I was in my teens then so I picked up on Uma and Alica being babes very quickly. Both movies are great examples of what we got in the pre DCU/MCU days......characters being nothing like the comics, movies being more for spectacle instead of plot and purely marketed at kids/teens. I do enjoy them for what they are but I can see their flaws especially compared to the brilliant Dark Knight trio we got years later. As for the BF game being horseshit......well.....fancy that eh? XD A movie game that is garbage and more than likely as a kid at that time.....I probably went to the arcades and spent money on that shit because Batman. ;) It was released in the arcades, that I do remember definitely.

    I'm kinda wondering about the Stage 3 timer... does it reset between attempts on Genesis? It doesn't on SNES: whatever it's at when the level ends (either by finishing it or game over) is what it'll start at the next time you play it, unless you hard reset the console. And yes, this means running out of time results in automatic game overs just for reaching Stage 3 again.

  • @Darklordjadow1

    @Darklordjadow1

    On the Genesis if you get a game over, the timer resets for the next time you get to the stage. If the timer runs out, you just lose one life and have to start the level over.

    hey just wanted to clear some stuff up - to drop down you hold C then hit down twice, you'll drop instantly every time. I imagine they did this so when you get somewhere like the circus level you're not just falling through the platforms whenever you hit down & C. Gliding is just jumping then pressing/holding up again, not 3x lol tbf the devs should've made a tutorial level, most of people's ill-will toward this game is due to not understanding how the controls work, which frustrates the player almost immediately. Dude I had this game as a kid in the 90s WITH A 3-BUTTON CONTROLLER LMFAO it was brutal but I figured it out ya know? Outside of that the last part of the bank stage is awful due to draining lives from being knocked off the ledge so easily but if you spam the daze special move they dizzy & get yeeted off the edge before anything can happen. I have a weird soft spot for this game, the riddles/secrets are very well done imo & this game overall doesn't deserve the hate it gets (again imo).

    @@Darklordjadow1 Six if you want to count the CD32x version of Surgical Strike (only released in Brazil but everything is in English.), really all of the CD32x games are just merely enhanced ports of existing Sega CD games, Night Trap, Supreme Warrior, Slam City with Scottie Pippin and Corpse Killer, Fahrenheit is the only one that has both a Sega CD and a CD32x version packed together, supposedly Surgical Strike has it too in Brazil, but it's only a Sega CD game here in America.

    I'm surprised you didn't bring up Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub Zero into this review since that game has the exact same style as Batman Forever and you mentioned Batman Forever in your Mortal Kombat Mythologies review. By the way, which game did you find worse: Batman Forever or Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub Zero? My money's on the former.

    I guess I hadn't figured on comparing the turds with how similar they are. It's a crapshoot whether Batman Forever or MK Mythologies is worse. Mythologies feels much harder because there are fewer exploits to the combat, but the platforming is much better by comparison in Mythologies. Forever has cheat codes, but I have a Gameshark for Mythologies. Forever is the less broken game in terms of combat an enemies, but I think I'd rather play Mythologies for its more colorful graphics and less repetitive gameplay.

    Films, I only liked 89 and Forever... Excluding Phantasm that is This game, I seen mostly the SNES version which is graphically superior then the Genesis but I did notice enemies in the Genesis version also lay down longer after every big encounter unlike the SNES version where they jump back up immediately after being knocked down Definitely a different review and I do approve of this new frontier

    When discussing the Arrowverse Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover, Kevin Smith described Batman 89 as being the template for every superhero film since. So... show me the other superhero movies where the villain has more claim to main character status and where the hero barely shows up or tells us his deal until the last half hour!

    i actually love the Schumacker movies of batman, batman forever is a little more kid friendly then burtons wet dream of a super hero story, but it did have elements that basically are batman, plus robins outfit looked pretty damn good and not like a walking bullseye, and i will always love how much fun jim carry had just acting like a human cartoon, as for batman and robin, it was actually one of the first movies i saw in theaters that i remember, now that im older i get that its stupidity is pretty much stupid, but i still get a few chuckles out of it because i essentially built an immunity to its cringe, these movies are stupid but i freaking love it. besides Joel DID apologize for basically pissing in bat fans eyes as they blinked, kinda makes you like him more then the White Noise we call Micheal Bay

    Excuse me sir but I beg to differ on your opinion of catwoman's costume. For many kids of the 90's that suit single handedly kickstarted puberty for a generation! Also it may have awoke some darker, more experimental tastes shall we say in others. So I hear.... I think it holds special place for some in the history of cat woman costumes.
