@@AESRSRSE Yeah... They know Batman wont kill them, so they keep on going. They dont have honor, they are like snakes but even snakes have some honor. If Batman kills them, he will become like Injustice Superman and if Batman spares them then they will going around like this forever. I learned one certain thing from Batman's story. Whatever you do, there is no good ending. There will be always someone going to screw everything.

Also I always think to this line of dialogue by Bruce “ you didn’t do it for money you didn’t even do it for love not out of anger not out of jealousy you did it because you’re a small malicious” I think that what also has Bruce the most upset the senseless ness of their death because an entitled peace of trash like this felt if he couldn’t have her then she and her husband were better of dead.

@Michael Ray na, I think the alley was from a movie. Or a different game. In the Arkham series, it takes place in a square sort of area. There are fences, and doors to enter buildings around the area

Bruce must be trying to ignore the fact his parents died right there while he’s trying to solve the same murder. But even his detective scanner makes him hallucinate his parents laying in the outline

When I played this game, Batman DID kill him (was a glitch). Batman interrogated him by holding his leg over the railing where the river is, and when Batman dropped him, the dude fell in the water and had the grapple line hooked onto him and tied to the railing. Batman legit made a guy drown in my playthrough

I think the biggest problem with this game is that it’s not very polished. There are lot of glitches in this games.

This was a one that hit home to Bruce. Two people he knew and were friends with murdered in cold blood just like his parents because of some punks petty, selfish reasoning.

The reason Bruce lost his mind was because it was just like his parents being killed. They literally appeared while he scanned the place. Those two were his friends. In Bruce's hallucination after apprehending Joker, he imagined him as his parent's killer

Even in Arkham Knight, Batman is very brutal, especially the way he fights and his punches look like it’s enough to go through someone’s body. He kept his brutality while showing restraint.

Subtly but wonderfully roleplayed, dude. The slow walk up Crime Alley, the moment after you'd completed the scan, staring at the bodies and the rose, the head-shake after Chase says "give me a minute". Kudos.

I actually don't like the wall interrogation. Bruces lips move like he is talking regularly and the VA acted like he was about to legit snap on this dude. I guess you can blame that on the facial animation department. The ground interrogation hides Bruce's face, letting the imagination run wild on the facial expressions he makes...

I keep asking myself: "What happened to that bastard Joe Chill?" I checked his file on Wikipedia, Joe Chill is a small-time crime boss, Batman confronted Joe and revealed his secret identity: "I'm the son of the man you murdered, I'm Bruce Wayne" Chill was frightened, sought protection from his henchmen. Once his henchmen (who had friends that were arrested by Batman) learned that Chill's action led Batman's existence, they turned on their boss and killed him, never giving Chill a chance to reveal Batman's identity. Batman learned that Chill was not a robber, but actually a hitman who had murdered the Wayne's on orders from Mafia boss Lew Moxon, in a flashback, Thomas Wayne, had worn a bat-costume to costume party, where Moxon and his men had shown up and forced him to remove a slug from his arm. Afterwards, he (Thomas) testified against Moxon in court. The crime boss swore revenge, and hired Chill soon after. Batman confronted him (Moxon) years later while wearing his father's costume (since his current one was ripped off in his last battle). Moxon, who had amnesia and so did not remember ordering the hit, suddenly remembered what he had done. Thinking Batman was actually Thomas Wayne's ghost, Moxon panicked and ran out into the street, where he was hit by a truck and killed. Man, Joe Chill is a hired hit for the Mafia? And all of the this because Moxon wants revenge on Dr. Thomas Wayne?

Depending on the version. In the Nolan trilogy he got Killed by Falcone after testifying against him (his death was actually the reason batman wouldn't commit to killing since he was seconds away from doing it himself before the Assasin did),in Brave and the bold it went exactly like you said with the difference it wasn't henchmen that killed him but all the major Villians in Gotham. Your version is probably the comics one.

His latest iteration was some down on his luck bum who shot the wayne's because he was scared and shot them out of instinct when Thomas tried approaching him. I like it cause it shows Bruce that crime isn't always from evil people, some are just as much a victim as him.

In his own words. PLEASE THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU DO THIS

apparently when you reconstruct the crime scene, you can see thomas and martha’s bodies momentarily. I saw the first time I played but when I played a second time, I couldn’t see them again.

I was so shook when I saw this part, I was trying to 100% this game and when I did this last investigation I had no idea this would happen. It was done so well, especially when it was followed up with Gordon asking Batmans help

When I first did this side quest, I thought this was gonna be a scarecrow reveal. Batman realizes he's constructing the death of his own parents because he got dosed in some fear toxin when he entered the alley.

I think it’s cool how The Joker was born on the same block where Batman was Born. Ace Chemicals and Crime Alley.

This game is the most extensive when it came to Detective work and Batman's investigative side which to me is Batman's most unique ability. Hopefully The Batman do justice with this huge part of his story we didn't get to see much of in previous film adaptations.

the writing in this game is severely underrated

2:28 I like it that when he says “I know them” you think he’s imagining his parents but then it turns out he actually knows them. Way to trick the player into thinking they are smart.

Many people will complain about Roger saying he isn't as good as Kevin in the batman role but Roger is one of the best batman voices I've ever heard. He plays the young batman perfectly with the right amount of pure aggression that Bruce did not know how to tame and control at this stage of his career. Edit: it's really weird and really funny that when Alfred talks during the interrogation, the suspect looks like he's the one talking Alfred's lines

I just wanted to say that this was some of the best gameplay footage I've seen in a long time. Didn't speed through the tense parts, showed some of the more interesting details, and even had a joke with the head shake. Good stuff.

My god, it happened right where his parents died. The amount of trauma and flashbacks that would've been brought on him, plus it was his friends. That criminal is lucky to be alive. You even see his parents glitch in his scanner, they died the exact same way.

7:10 I love how the bad guys mouth moved when Alfred was talking on the coms.

They were killed just like his parents and that’s the same exact place. Those memories pissed him off.

I heard somewhere that before going out every night as Batman, Bruce forces himself to relive his parents murders in Crime Alley because he wants to make sure it sticks with him, so no other child feels as helpless and angry as he does. That's Batman.

I'm convinced batman kills people from those monstrous punches that shake the whole screen and make em fly, brains got to be bleeding.

Favorite arkham game...now my favorite batman game would have to be LEGO BATMAN THE VIDEOGA-

7:20 you even don’t let him catch my breath

It might’ve been the version that I played (Wii U) but when you go into investigation mode and re-create the crime scene it’s actually super imposed Bruce’s parents, that instantly told me that this particular investigation was hitting really close to Home and he was most likely going to be a little more ‘violent’ towards the perpetrator.

The couple died in the same place and way as batman's parents, probably the closest batman will ever come to killing someone.

Love how Alfred suggested he went home afterwards to try keep him from doing something he’ll regret

Fantastic they put this in especially a side mission perfectly shows how Batman if he doesn't watch himself could go over the line

Love it when his face gets glitched to that battle frown after a fight, it never fails to bring a smile to my face

Did anyone else notice that when Alfred said his vital signs were erratic, the thug also moved his lips??

My favorite moments are always when the bat almost breaks his rule, and Alfred brings him back or even just he calms down a bit, like in Arkham knight when he's under the influence of the fear toxin, and beats those dudes up without holding back, i mean it was the joker tbf, but still awesome hearing all the guards talking about you like some legend and how batman's starting to not hold back and all that

This is another reason why Origins is my favorite Arkham Game and why I trust WB Montreal to do a great job with Gotham Knights

I think this best shows what could happen to a man with all that power, how someone could lose himself, but batman denies it, and keeps going, that's why he's strong, it's not because of his strength, it's because of his determination to not break his code and go for as long as he can.

Man, Roger Craig Smith is so damn awesome. If I heard his voice in a dark alley, I think I’d shit my pants

we needed more missions like these for Batman. He's also supposed to be the world's greatest detective, not just some badass martial artist who doesn't miss leg day lol

Best Arkham game. Best voice acting (Craig smith is the best batman). Best character designs. Best batman suit. Best cutscenes. Best boss fights. Best story. It needs a remaster. Now! Imagine playing this snowy Gotham at Christmas time.

This game always looks weird to me, probably because it's in a snowy setting, and it's putting graphics that are meant to be in darkness into what is essentially full-bright

Just finished this amazing game. When I did this side mission and realized the casefile pointed me to Crime Alley, I went "Oh boyyyyy." Then Batman remarked, "I know them." Once Batman ascertained that the culprit is Ian Chase -- well, he's screwed. Absolutely incredible writing. And Captain Gordon called shortly after apprehending Chase to ask for Batman's help.

The strength this guys right arm must have from holding on to those grappling hooks and they pull his body weight and his suit through the air

The atmosphere of this game is as good as in Asylum. The snow, the christmas inspired music, the background police sirens and the abrupt transmissions… I also really loved these crime scene investigation side quests and the VA is doing an amazing job.

I can’t get over the fact that everytime the cape opens it sounds like the rock vine boom sound effect
