This is absolutely correct and forever whoever did not, they also got involved in heavy drug use, and who would blame them? Stuck between a rock and a hard place. We know how that went down. I don’t want to hear about another Eddy or worse, Benoit. No more. It’s not worth it. I am glad that WWE seems to be hiring back old Wrestlers and turning them into Staff because they need another option that’s not tied to beating their bodies down 350 days out of the year until Death or throw them aside because they’re too old.

Met Batista back in 2007 in the airport the day after Wrestlemania 23. I was a 15 year old die hard fan at the time, he gave me a autograph and I told him that his match with Taker was my favorite of the night and he thanked me. I’m happy he’s had a string of successful films and wish him the continued success.

Had a similar experience with Shawn Michaels at the airport as we landed for WM19. That's where the similarity ends. He told us to get lost and didn't give us a pic or autograph 😂 airport was dead too and he was on his own. I saw why so many in the industry hated him.

People forget Batista made it out of the DC slums. He’s far more aware and much more appreciative of the gifts he’s seen. To me, it seems to me as though he’s satisfied with the work he put into his time with the WWE, and now realizes he’s being presented with far more interesting and physically beneficial opportunities that will lead to a much longer career in acting. DB has learned to be very calculated with his life decisions over time.

Still remember him running into the ring to save Rey Mysterio from The Great Khali. Happy to see that The Animal is a WWE Hall of Famer now. He deserves everything for making our childhood memorable.

Batista was my childhood Hero along side John Cena The Ruthless Aggression Era was my childhood

Respectable decision. The man has had an amazing career, fun matches, memorable fueds, and was the coolest guy in Evolution. + He’s made a great career in Hollywood. I would love for Dave to be in the Hall of Fame one day because he deserves it, one of my favorites of all time in the Ruthless Agression era and in general. I loved seeing Batista wrestle back in the 2000’s and when Evolution reformed to take on The Shield. He’s getting on in years for in-ring action and he picked up some injuries during his career that would negatively affect his acting career if he picked up a similar injury again. I think maybe that’s why he wouldn’t wrestle another match

Most people gotta realize his age too, similar to DDP got into it super late but was a natural, he’s payed way beyond his dues and should enjoy a long happy retirement

Peole need to realize how much impact wrestling has on to someone's body. Its messed up just for entertainment.

he’s done, he has spectacular career in wrestling and he is a legend; thank you for such a great performance along your career making happiness and brings joy; his body cannot cope no more with extensive sports good luck in acting careers

I retired from the indie circuit and they are like “when are you coming back?” “We miss you at the shows!” etc., and I’m like, no thanks. That chapter in my life is done. So many others say they will retire or do actually retire and go back a month later, lol. Much respect to Dave for this. 🎉

I had an action figure of this guy as a kid he is a legend in my eyes put him in the HOF

Good old smackdown days, I was such a big fan of him

He had so many really bad injuries in his career that one more injury can mess up his life plus he makes more money acting then being in the wrestling business. This is also why the rock and John cena have step back from the wrestling business too.

He is the only former wrestler turned actor, that seem to care to ACT, and not like Cena, Johnson, only play themselves.

I’ve seen John cent play a drug dealer and a superhero. I’ve seen the rock play a coke head and a murderer. And the rock was even playing a character when he was at his best in wwe. What films has batista done where he’s not just a musclehead whooping ass?

@@felipedeornelas8054 He actually kinda has. He was very good in Dune and Blade Runner 2049 and obviously Guardians of the Galaxy as a more comedic role. He can play the serious role and the comedic role very differently
