Continuous flow is the way to go here, but there is obvious bias. Namely, the batch line is purposefully made to look much slower. Green: grabs a new part while handing off current part simultaneously. Yellow: no simultaneous movement. Part is put into basket first, then grabs a new part. Not simultaneous. This is an inaccurate representation. A case of subtle bias imposed on the viewer.

Lead time from station 3 to station 4 is also incorrect. It would be 15 minutes, not 20. First part took 16 minutes if correctly stated.

Cycle Time and Lead Time

This shows that it requires only 1 employee to do the work in 30 mins lead time or 4 employees in 8 min lead time. If customer need is 8 mins you can't do batch approach. Continious flow is based on continious demand with low lead time. If only one batch is needed you might as well stick with one employee, yet start a bit earlier 😂
