when talking to people not to many seem to be familiar with avenged sevenfold but love metallica and its like bat country was the first song I ever heard of from a7x and this was years ago and I was hooked on them ever since just as much as metallica. honestly feel bad to see all the empty seats when they are an amazing group wish I knew they were coming to the area sooner than I found out I'd be in Philly seeing both a7x and metallica. would be a dream come true to see both in the same concert.

he fuckin plays those lead fills and solos with ease without even glancing at the guitar while walking & wandering about some other shit,its like his fingers had memorized everything before him and playing on their own will.

This song sounded excellent when I saw you boys on May 10 at M&T Bank stadium. In Baltimore City! Definitely coming to see A7X in January (?) !!!

I saw Iron Maiden in MA (Ghost opened). About 88 degrees, high humidity. Bruce comes out in a sweat shirt and sweat pants. Halfway through "If eternity should fail" (the opening song) he already sweated through everything

I agree Jacob, but in a recent interview the vocalist said that this is the perfect way for them to show their music to more people and to, one day, have enough fans in every city to be able to fill those stadiums on their own. But you're right, they're way too good to be opening up for other bands, I get that...

they’ve been going on their own arena tours for years. but metallica had asked them to open for them on their stadium tour which was a good opportunity for them to get their music out to even more people. but they’ve been selling out arenas for a long time now.

I was there! I thought avenged sevenfold played really good but the problem was they didn't sound very good, the sound wasn't mixed good at all. I think Lars Ulrich might've had something to do with that because he's been known to talk to sound guys and get them to make sure the opening acts don't sound very good or nowhere near as good as them. Which Metallica sounded amazing I must say

I love these guys still, but not gonna lie, i wished they would at least write a few more songs like in Waking the Fallen album.

there were a few pits but other than that, everybody was on their phones. it has fucking ruined concerts.

Sotraka_ V I saw them in New Jersey last week and it was crazy how few people showed up for the openers. Maybe 1/4 of the crowd was full for Volbeat and just over half for avenged

If so, I know he said in an interview when asked about this tour w/ Metallica.. He had something about how they had just spent over a million dollars on their new stage set etc and now it all has to go in storage for the year, cause of this tour. And how he really wanted to go out and do the N. American tour w/ this set this year, but this Metallica thing came up and management etc agreed to it. So, he's probably not all that stoked, and I get it. This was supposed to be their big "break out" tour as headliners w/ a huge stage set etc etc. And then all of a sudden that got put on hold till next year..And when you're just did a big European tour as the opener w/ the set and now you're back as an opener, with a shorter set list, and playing to a crowd that is mostly there to see Metallica, that's gotta be kinda of a blow...

There´s more. His wife is pregnant. And today he had to fly home to be with her as she unexpectedly went into early labor with the birth of their first child. That says a lot. :)

John coffee Memorial riders Another metal elitist. As far as I know this song is much more complex and difficult than songs like Enter Sandman... Afraid to break it to you but not all guitarists use the minor pentatonic scale to solo. Unlike Kirk Hammett. Now- I'm not stooping to your level and bashing on Metallica. They are great, but Avenged is the next Metallica, and will be seen as so. That is once Metallica is over.
