Bastien Salabanzi: The Lost Part
Спорт
It's hard to imagine footage like this getting "lost", but things happen. When Ewan Bowman told us he was working on a never-before-seen part of Bastien we were stoked, but the final product is heavier than we ever could have imagined.

I wish, for Bastien's sake, his story would've played out a little differently. He definitely deserves to have a SOTY under his belt. Hard to accept that all of this footage went completely unused & UNSEEN throughout an entire era of skateboarding. Makes you wonder how something like that could even happen.

Brick Schitthouse I don't think anyone is saying he should be a current SOTY candidate, but back in the early 2000's there's no question he had good enough years. Those cab flips you see everyone doing now, he was the first person I ever saw hucking them down big shit.. nollie heel back lip down handrails.. I could go on. He was definitely a tech-gnar pioneer & without a doubt SOTY quality.
Been skating for 30 years -this is one of the best part i have ever seen. Bastien came from another planet and he is still up there in the hegemony of skateboarding
This dude officially owns cab flips. What a beast....
people need to take notice on his style, the baggier pants and the way things were...please lets all go back to then for the love of all that is good and pure in this world
This was filmed ten years ago and its still better than 90% of the parts released now
This was filmed in the 2003-2004 era. To give you proof that his skill was way ahead of his time, Chris Cole and P-Rod were at their peak, Sheckler was still on Almost, Shane O'neill and Nyjah were am, Koston was still on eS shoes, and Nike SB was new and not as popular as it is today. Bastien is a beast
This is fucking WORLDS better than some parts I've seen come out recently. And for this to be filmed ten years ago holy shit he was way ahead of the game
geez. it must really suck having full cab flips as your go-to trick
That song was perfect for the part. Music can make or break a video part and this song made this a memorable video part to go along with his next level skating. This seriously could've been brand new footage and it still would've been the best video part to come out in a while. Bastien is an often overlooked legend.
One of the best parts in skateboards history
This doesn't live up to today's standard. It's way better.

why in the freaking world 3 people disliked this video? have you no idea of what this thing means for the whole world?!?!?! MAN!!!! this is a guy that EVERYBODY misjudged and went MIA for ages and he KNEW there was a mindblowing part of his stocked somewhere in the depths of hell that could've made him have the career of a Nyjah a full decade before! most pros don't compare to this part TODAY, let alone 10 years ago! Beastien Salabangin, you're the shit!!!
thats the greatest thing i've ever seen. its a crime this didnt drop a decade ago
I saw so many videos ... for me, this is still the best part i've ever seen I will never get rid of it technical, fast, stylish and powerful !!! impressive !! Bastien, t'es stylé et techniquement impressionnant ! on ne peut se lasser de cette vidéo !!
That Blizzard flip at 2:43! I hate how Bastien gets ripped apart for "his cockiness." He is so damn consistent and gets really competitive but that's how he entertains the crowd and you can tell he's still having fun. I feel like that's looked down on in Pro-level contests now and judges want to see more people who don't try anything difficult but make it look good. If that's how they want to skate in a video part, fine but I think they need more skaters like Bastien in contests because competitiveness is exciting to watch.

Don't mind this Brick Schitthouse guy, he seems to be a jelly hater who thinks Bastien wasn't gnarly enough to be SOTY 10 years ago with that level of skating, and no arse, Sheckler didn't do stuff equally as gnarly as bastien did when he was a kid, as a grown up? Sure he did, not as a kid though, which is fairly understable, not gonna hate on Sheckler, he's insane at the game as well :) You are still a jelly kid though :P

perfect style
