What about a year? Because I defently have come to youtube, watching just dog videos because 2020 has been a pretty bad year and I need the happiness that comes with dog videos!

This was way cuter and way more peaceful than my family reunions. 😂❤🐕 (But in NO WAY did we ever sniff or lick each others nether regions!) 😂

I have grown up with yorkies and Bassetts. I gotta say that Bassett sre my favorite. My Zeke is almost 12 yrs old, and he is my big chunky mommas' boy. Lol

Bassets are such interesting dogs.They are even tempered, always accessible, often aloof, stubborn x3!!!, so mellow about things yet prone to little bursts of energy, not smart but definitely not dumb and they never seem to have favorites..everyone is part of the pack.I have had my Basset Louie for 10 years this December and still can't figure him out completely.

They are something! I had a paper route growing up. The last house on my route had two bassets named Whiskey and Stinger. The house had a long driveway I had to walk up to leave the paper at the front door. When I'd walk up the driveway, Whiskey and Stinger would amble slowly towards me barking. Whiskey was shy so Stinger would come up and let me pet him then Whiskey would see it's okay let me pet him. Then as I would walk towards the door, they would be play fighting with each other, all the time getting right in front of me where I was walking. This happened every time. It was very funny and very Basset like! Unfortunately Stinger died and it stopped.

Hi Desdinova i agree with most of you wrote but my opinion is they are the most intelligent dogs, because they are so stuburn they do not do what we want they do what they want and they understand everything what we are doing but we can not say it from us and from the other dogs, they do feel see difference in everything.That is why they win most of the drogsearch competition where one of them would compete. They go straight where the pray,they are the top is and so on and so on...huge plus they look like how they look like, most lovable dogs full with passion they can repeat animalsongs if you are listening them, caring with them, most funny dogs because inteligence is coming with homour they know and can make differences between good and bad jokes at least myone can do it for sure.

Are family always had beagles growing up, loved them but they loved to stray/roam. I Dared to be different and got a basset when I moved out. I was hoping for a more low energy hound. I got more than I bargained for! So much personality!! I beleive bassets are very intelligent but just like to use it in stuborn/mischievous ways! I lived alone so we were pretty much 1 on 1 interaction. That dog was feriously loyal... craziest ive ever seen. Not 1 time did she ever leave my back yard. And going out for drives/ visiting parents she would go out my front door and sit at the edge of my stoop. She NEVER left it. I always had to pick her up. Getting home i could pull her out and set her down. She would bee line and just sit at the front door and wait no mater how long i took to unload things, but things away in my garage. If they could only talk at times i swear! They are very much pack animals. I wont have another untill im retired if i even want the commitment again! They are needy!

Wonderful family of Basset hounds. I used to breed bassets years ago. A very special and loving dog. All mine have passed but I think of them every day and I miss them all 18 of them. They have crossed the Rainbow Bridge and are waiting for us to meet once again. God loves Dogs.

The demand for basset hounds is very high. The rescue societies almost never have one to adopt. I have tried to get one that way and have not had any luck. I was told at the pound that they are never turned in and when they are , they are snapped up within the hour. That is why they are expensive. It all comes down to short supply and high demand.

People want them because they are impossible to anger and are completely trustworthy with children. You can't count on that when you get one from the dog pound.

Yeah, good luck finding a Bassett hound at the pound, LOL.....
