Porównanie strun do gitary basowej / Struny do gitary basowej✌🏻
Podczas poszukiwań strun do Fendera Jazz Bassa nagrałem to porównanie. Miłego odsłuchu.🎧✌🏻
🔴 Dlaczego do porównania wybrałem 3 komplety strun Ernie Ball i porównałem z jednym kompletem D'Addario?

I recently tried the Cobalt switch from the D’addario and I wasn’t as crazy about the Cobalt, but here they sound the best to my ear. Thanks, good vid.

D'addarios have the crispiness up top. They sounded slightly weaker on the open B to me than the Ernie Ball's Regular Slinky, but I just play a 4 string Jazz. Flatwounds still had good presence. Nice vid...thanks!

Nice comparison and very nice playing! I listened with decent headphones but found less differences than i expected. Overall the nickel EB seem slightly more brilliant and articulate than D'addarios, which fits with my own experience. Unfortunately i found EB to die quicker than D'Addarios. The cobalts seem a bit duller, at least in some of the bits you played, closer to the flats.

I also found fewer differences than expected. The difference between the Cobalts and the Flats should have been *huge*, which it certainly is not and makes me wonder what is masking that difference.

I play by a pretty good ear... been know to miss one note from time to time. Except some would never believe I was a musician (weekend/ full time) because in a blind test I can only tell the difference in real old strings and new ones? Type, size, brand is never heard by my ears. That's the honest truth. Anyone else like me?

Mi primera impresión es que me gustan mas las ernie ball cobalt, pero... me gustaría saber si estas usando un compresor ya sea en el amplificador o en la grabación!?? Porque eso afecta a como uno escucha el volumen de cada cuerda..

  • @MIVProductionStudio

    @MIVProductionStudio

Sí, hay un compresor ligero en la grabación. El conjunto de cobalto es el más dinámico. Yes, there is a light compressor in the recording. The Cobalt set is the most dynamic.

I heard the faintest of difference in favor of the cobalts, but really.. so small. I feel like I'm watching cycling or hiking gear where they try to shave grams off their load and all I can see is it just won't matter 'til I shed another 20 lbs. At my level, it's not the strings.

  • @rl-ub9hx

not as much difference between the XL and the Cobalt as I experienced when I switched. The cobalts for me were remarkably brighter and more crisp, esp the low B. I didn't hear that at all in this demo. The flat wounds really surprised me and I might need to give them a go!

I've tried so many different bass strings and always go back to nickel roundwound ernie balls . Their tone last so long . I can play a set of gas boomers and they'll sound dead after a few weeks . Ernie balls still have those harmonic overtones and overall brightness after 3 months of hard practice .

Can you please help? How do you have such control over the sound of sliding across the strings? When I play (even as consciously as possible) I get piercing scratches when I slide up or down the strings.

Do you have dry or sticky hands when playing? Try a few things out until you find what works - remove some of the top from your bass / amp, wipe you hands before you play, wipe your strings regularly, try string cleaner like Fast Fret say, don’t laugh spray a small bit of WD40 on your fingers, practice sliding until you get it. Or you could try flatwounds.

  • @MIVProductionStudio

In each of these sets, this problem occurs with this thickness of a string (45-135). We founded only through the guitar body.

I don't think that fact is sad at all. For most of us it's a good thing. Once we come to this realization, we 'll spend less time worrying about what strings to use and spend more time practicing.
