Tal is gifted. As a teenager, her father would bring her to California for the annual Winter NAMM shows. She would floor everyone with her pocket and versatility. Great call having her on your show, thank you!

I love how when Lex mentions Tal being one of the best ever, and her solo being one of the best ever, she brushes it off and talks about cookies.

Oh man, so glad to see Tal on Lex. Love her and most people I talk to haven't heard of her.

I’d imagine it’s hard to talk to Tal and not flirt. Let’s not hammer Lex. She’s pretty cool and really talented.

Don’t: treat the band as your personal jukebox and use every opportunity to show off your chops. Do: serve the song. Serve the audience. Support the band; give more consideration to the space in between the notes over the notes themselves, and make sure the spotlight is always on the band leader, not you. This is the recipe for an absolutely killer rhythm section.

One of my basses was a 4 string Fender P-bass that actually had a softer wood body which I could mute with my right hand while playing and when recorded it sounded exactly like an upright bass! Using GS flat round wound strings

I first noticed Tal watching that Jeff Beck gig at Ronnie Scott's. She looked like a little child. Jeff Beck (on a KZread video). related to Alice Cooper his impressions upon first meeting Tal.

I recently retired from playing bass over 40 years and when I quit playing I had almost completely stopped slapping. Several years back almost all bass players overused slapping it became nauseatingly overused. I actually went back to simple playing to ensure the bass was setting and supporting its purpose! I did pick up my again to play some songs!

Tal appears to have taken to bass fully formed. The only real difference I hear now compared to when I saw her with Jeff is her left hand finger strength. Notes are fretted more cleanly these days.
