For what It's worth, I did a ton of research and ended up (based on this video and my research) buying three EBS pedals for my son for his birthday/Christmas - he loves bass and this was super cool and made it clear to tis no-musical mother.

I don't own a bass, I don't even know a thing about music, but love this type of content. I guess I was a bassist on a previous life lol

Awesome! I'm glad you enjoyed the video anyway. P.S. There's still time to take up playing bass. You're never too young or old ; )

Really nice overview of bass pedals. All of the ones you have seems to be the consensus here on KZread. I just got a Tech 21 Bass Fly Rig 2 that has Compression, EQ, Drive, Chorus, and then a combo octaver, fuzz, envelope filter. That seems to have me covered. Thanks for sharing.

but you really need the High Pass Filter ON, post any on sub-octave pedal; ( EBS, or any company, would be wise to incorporate a simple HP circuit into their sub-octave pedal ) because all you would want there are the upper harmonics of a low sub signal, until the note is high enough. ( because those really low frequencies just eat your amps head room, otherwise )

Thanks for the explanation and overview of pedals. Pedal order is a subjective decision, and I like to put the distortion before the chorus or envelope filter so the extra frequencies added by the fuzz can be swept or chorused along with the dry signal. However, your sound is pretty good too. Luckily it is fun to experiment.

Pladask Elektrisk Feber into a Tech 21 NYC Street Driver 48, was my minimalist thought ... but basics is a really good bass ring topic, and thank you for the second opinion before i jump. the EBS Multi-Comp would, no doubt, probably be good up-stream of the Feber, ( a light fist stage comp + limit )

Hi! nice video. I have OctaBass and BassIQ and they sound really great. OctaBass tracking is good enough to enable playing some fast stacatto chords/riffs - but it requires a better muting technique than a digital pedal. I'm using also EBS Retracer Delay pedal which is great pedal for bass, because it really preserves the natural sound of your bass while allowing to experiment with some crazy modulated delay effects.

Awesome, glad you liked the video. Yes, analog octave pedals can be a bit harder to deal with. But it's totally worth it! Cool, I'll have to check out the ReTracer. Cheers for the recommendation ; )

They're called pedal toppers. They just create a bigger surface area for clumsy feet (or fingers)-more of a cosmetic thing really ; )
