Bass Guitar Lesson for “I Give Myself Away” by William McDowell

Description: This video demonstrates an approach to playing bass guitar on the William McDowell’s song, “I Give Myself Away.” Please keep in mind that “less is more” when it comes to playing in a group.
In this video, I’m using some playful fills and runs; these are for demonstration and I wouldn’t play like this during the song (unless it’s the right vibe to jam and get into it). Enjoy!

Thank you for the lesson. I have a service Sunday and this was the last song for me to learn. I enjoy seeing other perspectives and it helps me to build my bass vocabulary. I will be using this for my pocket! :)

Haha, thanks man. Glad you picked up some things. Most important thing is to learn the number system and major scale modes.
