This really wasn’t a review of the plugin though. It was more a rant on how terrible and predatory Unison as a company is.

Being able to auto gen basslines with pre programmed attack and cutoff for adding string bass to songs or when applying the midi file to another plug in is super helpful for getting authentic sounding plucked sounds. I agree probably worth $70-80

Im young as a producer and dont know much music theory so im looking for anything that can help me progress as quickly as possible. so of course i saw the bass dragon ad and the hair on the back of my neck stood up! i couldnt wait to get it and when i got paid i didnt hesitate to purchase it. i have only had it for about a month or so and i wish id seen your video before i bought it because its not anything like the ad. and im sitting there wondering "where are all these fire basslines i was promised?" the only way i can get a fire bassline out of it is to write them myself! i feel gypped! i will never fall for their ads again! there is no intelligence in this plugin artificial or otherwise! im tired of getting the same basslines over and over again!

Tools like bass dragon are good for getting ideas. Critical for when you do a lot of writing, and get writers block, and you need to jar yourself out of it.

Careful with rent to own stuff. They're not the only ones to attach an extra fee for that option. When I first found Noir (piano library) a website had that option. Came out as extra if you did the math. But the company that makes Noir doesn't even do that.

ill admit unison has been getting better at plugin making, I will admit that BUT they just think they can charge out the ass for it. if they just charged like 30 ish for plugins MAYBE 50 at max if we pushing it and stopped the terrible marketing then maybe they could gain some respect but they really are just a terrible plague in the music space.

I've recently purchased Bass Dragon and it's not a bad plugin. As an amateur beatmaker, it afforded me some new ideas when creating my bassline. I would agree this plugin would be a waste of time and money for experience Producers such as yourself but before you cast your final judgment, give it a try you may change your mind.

Been using music generating software since it came out (well, my 1st piece was back in... hmmm... 1997'ish if I recall.) As a hardware lover, I went over to software kickin and screaming. Discovered Bass Dragon months ago and saved it with a plan to look into it. Started looking again today and went to their site and was like "why did I think this was a one time payment for under $50 ??" - Realized I was way off. Then I ran into your video and I'm thinking "oh oh - this brotha hatin on it. Let me see whats up". THEN you said you didn't even have it and I'm like "C'mon man, realy?" But you know what totally swayed me away from it, thanks to you? That cut and paste shit as SOOOO wrong. The other stuff (price, etc. etc.) started adding up, but that 2% effort (if that) in the spiel of the own web presence? All that money on ads, but you play people like that? - Don't sit well with me. Thanks for your efforts.

I agree with you partially. In reviews it's best to review something after you have actually used it. But the point that he was making about the false claims is what young musicians need to know. I'm 43 and my friends and I used to make music on a Keyboard and a beautiful little 4 track Recorder back in 97. Creative people have fatigue. We also, all hit walls. Why? Because every song is not a good song. Not every song gets finished. Every moment of inspiration is an opportunity to learn. When you look back on or at your current music in 5 years . Hopefully you will see growth. Music Is Hard and Challenging and no stupid plugin is gonna change that. I've been making music for 20 years and I still suck ass!😂

Hell, Hexachords ORB Suite costs half of this, is regularly on sale for like 50$, and does all the same shit but with a better generation engine.

Literally in the middle of your video a Unison ad video popped up and they were talking about some bullshit "free plugin pack!"

You should play some samples from it so we could hear what it could do

Unison is amazing on every level, and I'm on the next level, and all I got to do is hit a the BIG button on Midi Wizard, Drum Monkey, Bass Dragon, and sound doctor and bam, instant chat topping hits. The plugins are work 97% of the time hit after hit and I didn't need to know anything about music theory or anything to be honest, and thanks to Unison I can make beats with My feet on mouse. My hands are free to draw Pitchers of Seph the saviour.

I love how they say "World's first and only bass generator" like there's so many bass generator plugins out there that do the same thing as their plugin. There's saying it as if they're doing something special. I could understand it if they were doing something that no one else is doing. But their plugin is literally doing the same thing as all these other bass generator plugins.

Questions are: Will any of those trillion bass lines be any good? The answer? No Will any of those trillion bass lines save you any time? The answer? No, you'll just tweak them like any other MIDI pattern. Will you be happy with your purchase? The answer? No, once you get a little experience and abandon Unison's gimmicky products, you'll realize there are better products out there.

Honestly, if they sold ALL FOUR of those programs, which you posted in here, for $197...then yeah, i can see buying them all for one bulk price. But EACH?!?! Heeeeeeell no.

i own bass dragon ok it is overpriced but it s a really nice tool the bass sounds are really dope with mangler, glide, and transient function, you can shape easily a pro bass sound and you can use the sounds manually for your own bass part and it sounds really good... it is their best plug in so far... it s too expensive i m ok but if you can afford it you re not going to be disappointed and man the disco and funk bass lines are out of this world i can t write better bass lines... so just try the 60 days refund and do a review with the plug in in action.... i love your channel and reviews btw... SumnSumnSumn...

I bought iBass Dragon and requested a refund within 2 hours - it’s the worst plug-in I have used for some time and definitely not worth the money - the problem is the plug-in comes up with a decent bassline rarely. To top it all of they wouldn’t give all of my money back and held on to 20% of the deposit😤

You don't need to buy Unison's products to know they're a ripoff. Unison MIDI Chord Pack was a ripoff, Unison MIDI Wizard was a ripoff, Unison Drum Monkey was a ripoff...etc. At this point, anyone who knows anything knows Unison's products are overpriced junk.
