Beautiful bass and that's a really cool effect you guys make.
how come I became aware of Source Audio just recently? all their pedals are absolutely amazing!!!
Thanks, btw awesome pedal and playing
this multiband octave sounds very good... better for bass solo. I like it
@gobassgo1 awesome! Glad you're into the pedal. My shoes were actually about ten feet away from me underneath a chair when this video was shot.
super helpful--thank you
thank you ! that's exactly what I need!
ive been searching for years to find a bass distortion/overdrive pedal that has the sound im looking for, and havent been able to find one, all the vids on youtube are all the same, old men playing bluesy basslines to screaming overdrive.. who would play blues with bass overdrive... anyway THIS is by far the best vid ive seen and i tihnk the closest ever to the sound im looking for, and u really knew what u were talking about in this video. awesome video man, great playing too.
@BassistWithAnEgo absolutely. Any tension sounds out as clear as if it were clean. In fact, on the multiband octave settings, you can begin to utilize chords in the lower frequency ranges of the bass with better results than on your clean channel because of the octave up.
Damn I must get this pedal.
that would be great. all the riffs u played in this video were great. i already tabbed out the spider song u played
It's a nice groove. You should make it a full song.
The dots alternate between having one lit and two lit. This way they correspond to to either the effect number they are directly next to or to the effect number in between both lights.
@crm261 it's awesome to hear that you guys want a tabbed out version of landmine! I'm in Frankfurt right now at Musikmesse, but when I get back I will tab it out and make a video for you. Did you check out our new Multiwave Bass Distortion demo video released this week? 1 sec ago
My world for a bass version of the Classic Distortion pedal. Yeah, I know you guys put up a video that shows how to eq it properly for a bass, but still. I just want to see what fun things I can do with the hothand and some more traditional tones.
I think that was the best organized, most informative, and classiest effect demonstration video I've ever seen. When talking about the octave effect, you talk about using chords, but I'm not able to tell if the effect is polyphonic, like say the ElectroHarmonix POG? It would be great if you responded, great job, though!
@jas0nv00r33s this pedal is best used with a keyboard through the 1/4 inch jacks...the MIDI connection is meant for controlling the parameters. It is a great distortion for keyboard though, especially in the lower ranges.
@bystander85 not sure about that one exactly...we use M Audio expresssion pedals. The important thing is to be sure the range is either adjustable or wide enough for the parameters on the the pedal.
FUUUUCKKK that demo just made me reconsider my entire christmas list.
@FantasiaP it's a song I wrote with my old band, The Help
@foderahead I got it straight from the Fodera guys in Brooklyn back in 2004. I was lucky because I didn't have to wait two yers since it was the very last bass of the Monarch Standard Series line...just sitting in the shop. The Fodera guys are great characters, give them a call and talk with them and they'll let you know what your best chance is to get one.
@jas0nv00r33s Short answer: Yes. Long answer: it's a distortion pedal at it's core that it is meant to achieve some a variety of synth like tones and some new, inventive distortion tones.
I have and love this pedal. I only wish it were smaller. Source Audio makes great fucking pedals. I wish they would make a smaller re-issue type version of this pedal for their One series. I would def buy it.
But that markbass synth pedal is badass!!
Landmine is amazing...do you have a recording of it somewhere?
Getting a cool bass fore Christmas... All extra Christmas money is going towards this or a regular Digitech distortion pedal. OHHH HOW I CANT DECIDE!
Landmine is sick.
good explanation ! I'm defenitely buying one where are your shoes ?
So i brought this pedal, and i love it! but i got a question! On my secound footswitch, i got one sound, and on my thrid footswitch, i got the same sound.. But it is just nearly as powerfull as the secound? How come? I have already tecked the eq, and it is the same.
I....MUST....HAVE...THAT..
great looking peadal. whos that landmine song by i would like to learn it
Why do you have a curly cable wrapped around the headstock ?
Awesome, just got mine...Can you safely use Ernie Ball Jr volume pedal as expression pedal for this unit? Thanks.
what was that second song you played after the spider
Who did landmine? that sounded awesome :O
What different between pro and soundblox 2?
Landmine is an unreleased original tune by my old band, The Help
@535sx2 oh very cool! did you post it anywhere?
what differrence between 1, 2 and Pro versions of this pedal? Is it analog or digital?
Can i make an advice? Use a different colour for the LED. I'm colorblind and i couldn't tell the difference when he rocked the expression pedal, and i'm sure a lot of other players might have that issue. Sure, it's a minor feature, but it'd be nice if you paid attention even to smaller details like this.
What would the outcome be, if you used the guitar distortion pedal on a bass?
Hi Buddy, I play Metal and I would like you to recommend a preset to try with my SMBD...
Can I use this as DI to a usb audio interface, mixer, or PA for line level?
Whats the difference between this and the non-pro verison?
Is there any use for those beads on the bass head, or are those simply for looks?
Alright I have a question for sourceaudioeffects. We just kicked one of our two guitar players out of our band, so we have a lot of open rhythm space. But we don't want to get another guitar player, so would it be possible for me to play the rhythm guitar part on my bass while the lead guitarist solo's?
@foderahead the wonders of the internet!
What are the settings on the daft punk song? I'm having a hard time getting that tone from my MWBDP...
Will, how can I be chill like you? =D
Who plays the song 'The Spider' that you played in the video?
Can I connect the HOt Hand Ring in this pedal?
@BaconLetticeTomatoe how much and where about are you based? And by the hot hand do you mean the wireless adaptor thing? So the ring and the little grey thing that plugs into the back? Sorry if I sound ignorant!
When you're selecting the distortion preset, I notice that there are several dots under each thing. For instance under "Octave" there are four dots. Are those four different types of octave distortion? It seems like a confusing interface.
@sourceaudioeffects I cant find that specific song
All this sound comes out of that single pedal? No other FX where used anywhere? Just the Multiwave and the bass? DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMNNNNNN!!!
@535sx2 Landmine is a song I wrote...I'm psyched to hear that you want to learn it! I could write it out for you, if you'd like.
What expression pedal you recommend for using with the Multiband Distortion?
was your prob sorted? i am looking at one and would like to know
One question: Would this pedal be far off when using with guitars? I can se the EQ is a little different, but what about the overdrive section with guitar?
@foderahead glad you like the bass, but I'm afraid it is not for sale...she's my prized possession!
@thecaleb1000 with this pedal on your bass you could absolutely produce a sound big enough. However, it's going to be different than a guitar. Check out the Warehouse Session videos...for some of those bass lines I'm playing in the sonic space of rhythm guitar. If you think it sounds awesome then you should try it out.
@sourceaudioeffects How do you play that ? Is there a tapping or you are just popping on the 12th to do the harmonics ?
what's with the headstock?
who does that song spider?
is this running direct to an audio interface or through a mic'd amp?
@bronzehydra3 exactly!
is this an amplifier or a synthesizer?
@bassbanapfel That song is called "The Spider" by The Help (my rock band) you can download the song at willcady.com
did u ever play tool with all tht
nice pedal. nice bass. nice bass player. nice presentation. nice... feet. this one doesnt seem (or was not meant) to do warm overdrive tones, but to be fair, i don't think you need that level of customization for warm tones as you do for modern tones.

7:00 is it Tsoy song "pachka sigarettes"?
What song on 5 & 7 min?
hey so is the pro alot better then the normal one? is it worth the extra money? or would i be content with the normal? i want to make dubstep if that helps to answer the Q..
@WorshipBassist We have a video on using the Classic Pro for the bass that can get you some metal tones...for what you're looking for, it sounds like that would be the better choice. Please let us know what you decide!
wow
@Eukatheude I'm colourblind too and agree, to me there is a difference in brightness but barely in colour. A better choice would be between red or green and blue. The problem is blue leds are more expensive so companies often opt for red or green. This is not "a few odd ones out" whining btw, a massive part of the male population is colourblind (around 5% actually, which is a high number when you look at it, 1 in every 20 males).
omg he just play some hancock! no freakin way
@NewgroundsOwnSBB nope...not until we sell 10,000,000 pedals. Socks are expensive in Boston.
Swapping between a totally clean sound and a properly equalized sound via expression pedal would recreate a convincing wha-sound? From what i could hear, i'd say yes...but...
Any expression pedal can be used, but this one is a Moog. It has no influence on the sound beyond controlling the parameters of the effect.
just a little groove I made up
What happened to these? Sounds like the only pedal for bass worth using basically.
Landmine is also an original tune!
The Help
i wanna know what an electric guitar would sound like with this
베이스에 디스토션걸어도 소리멋지네 ㅋ
@jnthnporras sentimental value.
FODERA!!!!! YEAH!!!
@chrissyboey try this link: soundcloud[dot]com/willcady/the-spider-final-master
dude can't afford socks
i don't know,, my bass v amp pro sounds just as cool with alittle tweaking..
nice ears
na i just wrote it so i could remember it.
nope standard stuff all works!
Is it just me or is playing a fodera with a distortion a bit like mixing a good whisky with coke?

JUST YOU
Hi Marlin, Send us an email at contact@sourceaudio[dot]net and we will make sure you are taken care of. The last thing we want is our pedals collecting dust.
to be honest mate i havent bothered. im sure i just got a dud, maybe even its just the power supply im using
I really don't dig the 'digital' approach source audio takes to it's equipment, the look and the sound is so sterile considering the instrument is fundamentally an acoustic sound, give me a analog fuzz box over digital distortion anytime.
You look like A.J Soprano.
