I am an artist and teacher. I have been making art since as far back as I can remember. I love to paint, sew, hand make all the things. I started my electronic journey of filming and posting back in 2015, though in 2017 with my Daily Devotion work, worked through my camera fears and posting on a public forum. Then I decided to become a little more serious in my endeavors to create content for other artisans. 2019 was a difficult year on all counts, personal and professional. 2020 is a new year and I am eager to continue with this project.
I do Custom, commission embroideries as well. To contact me: Ankharet_mt@yahoo.com

    Ooohh, I do have a question about human beings ( like body, face ) what would be the be methods? Or is that something completely different ?

    OH! I LOOOOVVEE questions about technique! Yes!. Seriously. the technique is the same, kind of. I would recommend either painting fabric, or using fabric to pain the image of a face in layers. It will work. You may need to do some tester pieces. But the split stitch, chain stitch, stem stitch and back stitch are your friend when it comes to faces- to embellish on applique'. Hair can be in turkey work (short hair) or braided textures.

    Love it! That fusible stuff is really neat. How badly does the fabric fray with it?

  • @EagleRue

    @EagleRue

    4 жыл бұрын

    I fused linen in this video, and linen frays terribly. But if you use medium to heavy usable stuff it will not fray at all. The light fusable product can be hit or miss on the fraying. If you use a tightly woven cotton the lighter fuse will work just fine with no fraying.

    What a lovely explanation on both types of applique! Are there any tips on using velvet as applique or am I simply about to die trying? It is for a traditional piece that would have been appliqued in velvet but my first attempts have only given me headaches.

  • @EagleRue

    @EagleRue

    4 жыл бұрын

    The trick I have found with velvet is the hand applique. If you are putting velvet on a smooth surface, you could probably use stick glue and tack around the outside. If you are applique' velvet on velvet- Pins and stitches and patience.

    @@EagleRue Thank you very much. It is velvet on wool so at least the base is stable but the velvet still finds ways to move and bulk up. I haven't tried the way you stretched things out so perhaps that will already help.
