What a great find and good explore. It’s always nice to see that many artefacts left behind.

I always check the expiration dates on goods and cans when I come across them to gauge the last time a site was used.

That's only useful upto the 1990''s because expiry dates didn't exist, unfortunately we have become mamby pamby, You accept it as normal, But we ate tinned food decades old or go with out, If it tasted "iffy" then you chuck it

Second miner hut seemed to be made from military surplus wood. The term “Special Services” typically refers to the department on base that provides service members with off hours entertainment;such as, gym equipment, movies, hobby shops, local tours,etc.

Same with the "Enlisted Men Only". That refers for non officers in the military. In the Army, enlisted goes from E1 private to E4 specialist, and then up through the Non Commissioned Officers (NCO), That's the sergeants.

Another great explore! Shane needs to use that leash that he's carrying, when he goes inside of a mine with his dog. 🐕 That is how Frank from EAM lost his dog Max. 😔 Dogs just don't understand the dangers, and there is no way that it can be conveyed to them.

Thanks for another interesting vid. Don't mean to be critical, just a gentle reminder that Frank of @Exploring Abandoned Mines lost his dog (early on) due to slipping into/down an ore pass and could not be recovered - heartbreaking!

That air compressor unit still has the ID numbers the Corp used. The Seabees used a very similar system on their equipment. It’s pretty wild to see that out in the middle of nowhere. Hard to tell how many CFM it is from the point of view.

You're living the dream! Wish I lived out west. There's only urban exploring in illinois. I bet doing the research finding these places is good fun too. I need to get out west!

@@GilbMLRS because that's what dog's instinctively do is run ahead of their owners.... all of my dogs have. So if I decide to go on a hike and the dog gets bit by a snake I should just hole up in my house to keep him and I safe.... or not take him on a car ride just because I might be hit and be in an accident? You phobia's and worries are not mine.

A pal of mine visited the first mine adit several years ago. He found a wood ore cart just inside the portal. The mine is located inside a Wilderness Area. He returned a few years later and discovered that someone had driven into the Wilderness and stole the cart.

Another awesome explore Jerith! The 3 black bags you found were filled with insulation - probably left over from BLM when they gate or close the mines. Someone probably didn't want to carry them back to the vehicle so just tossed them. Keep finding the great stuff! It is getting fewer and fewer in numbers.

Seems like pancake syrup is popular with miners. I've seen lots of you explorers find TONS of syrup. I've seen multiple gallon cans found in mines.... Like multiple OLD metal cans of it in one mine! The coolest was a can of syrup SHAPED like a log cabin!

In the old days you didn't have to refrigerate the ingredients, you see a lot of condensed milk cans also, plus even older there were glass bottles shaped like log cabins,but they held liquor

I don’t know why everyone’s annoyed about the dog going along. When I was growing up my dog would always go with my friends and me into the woods/exploring. My dog was never on a leash or chained up. I never even took him for walks, he did that himself, and would regularly bring home rabbits and opossum that he caught. Most dogs can take care of themselves

I think people were just worried for the dogs safety. Besides, hunting wild animals is how they carry diseases. Our dogs in my grandparents home are working dogs too but they stay outside because they kill disease carrying animals.

The concern over the dog is that they hadn't been in that mine before and to let that dog run free is a careless thing to do. No one knows what's around the next corner, that shaft may have a sudden drop that goes many feet down if that dog fell in they may not have the means to retrieve it. even if they could get down to the dog it could be to bring up a dead friend. Can you understand that being an annoyance? That is one of many DANGERS of going into a mine!

It's a Garmin Instinct, there's also the Garmin Instinct Solar. It's a great watch for what I do tracks elevation gain, distance, steps, heart rate, etc. And appreciate that! I've done a couple in AZ, would love to know which one you're talking about.

Yes I actually have. There are two in particular that were full of galena and the other had huge veins of limonite that looked very promising.

I hope you went to IN and Out Burger, LOL! That was very cool. That blue lid on the shelf was actually the top of an ammo can painted blue. Probably .30 call ball ammo depending on vintage. I also think that car burned inside.

I think someone burned that car, given the caved in roof and the fact that the fenders have paint on them.

Well, I'll just pull it up on my computer at work right now, and get paid to watch it.

For a guy who has explored so many mines and mine camps you sure seem to be pretty green when it comes to identifying the antiques
