not sure about the rest of the world but here in Canada (also USA) in a few months the pixels go on a killer discounts and tag that financing options the pixels are a sweet deal. Yes the prices are higher, but the product seems better than the 7 and plus if you consider inflation it is more or less fair.

Had mine for 3 days. Love the size (compared to my P6) and rounded corners. I've slapped a case on it as it's too slippery for my liking. Otherwise loving it so far.

Still no PAL settings in video. Also Google have done something to the video download in Google Photos, I can no longer read my video downloads on a mac. This occurs if you have the space saver setting on. As for the video boost feature, I just don't trust Google not to either charge for it in the future or just close it down in the future if its not popular.

Thanks for mentioning the slightly thicker chin. Not that I care, as I use a pixel 6 with even larger chin, but Ive seen some youtubers mention that this has symmetrical bezels, which make me question whether they know what symmetrical even means.

Did I miss it or did he mention why it’s harder to recommend - I assume it’s because it’s £100 more? Great review otherwise and love the size/weight - just a shame Google have locked a lot of features to the Pro. I am very intrigued about the battery life on the 8 a few months down the line

From my point of view, It's all a waste of time since google didn't upgrade the fingerprint reader. Face unlock is not a good solution as the phone can unlock randomly when not needed. I keep face-unlock off, and the fingerprint reader is completely unreliable. The pixel fold mechanical unlock works great. I won't be buying another pixel until the fingerprint is updated. I'm also not sure how long smart phones can keep using quality photos as a selling point.... are we all in need of professional photos! Most of our photos spend their duration in the cloud . I think the photos are perfect enough for those of us that want photos that reflect reality rather than AI alterations..... Just fix the fingerprint reader. In my opinion the pixel 2 with the dual facing speakers and mechanical fingerprint reader was near perfection. I almost look forward to my pixel 7 crashing so I can bring out my pixel 2 again.

To any one being skeptical about Google's update policy, they have never ever went back on their promise to their update commitments. It is not about whether someone should use a device for this long, it is about the confidence one can have that atleast some of the features will trickle down to older devices for 7 years. Looking at Android's nature of backporting essential features via Google Play & Mainline to older devices, one can have more peace of mind regarding their device. Applause their courage to promise such a commitment!

The pixel 8 is around £200-300 cheaper. The 15+ has a larger display, probably a better battery life. I think it all boils down to which ecosystem you prefer or are tied into . I have a pixel and iPhone, and have a lot of the Google services on my iPhone IE Google One, Google photos , Gmail , Google search, Google Drive and Docs etc

In reality, the Pixel 8 has no interest, its SOC is throttled, and it ultimately does not take advantage of 60-70% of the new Ai features of the Pixel 8 Pro, in addition to no longer having the price advantage over smartphones like the S23, iPhone 15, OnePlus 11 and others 🤷🏽♂️

The temperature measuring device now provided by Pixel 8 Pro in my opinion is a rediculous new phone iteration! Is it there simply to up the price! Is there any dialogue whatsoever between Google and Google Customers other than money exchange!!! I am a Google customer. Тестил 8 пиксель, говно.. хотел поменять свой айфон 13про , но в итоге, Плюсы - 1.Камера , фото и видео лучше чем у 13про!!! Особенно видео, автофокус! Детализация и динамический диапазон! Фото также четче и автофокус лучше попадает! 2. Размер корпуса! Удобный очень! 3. Шустрый, меню и тд, 4. Разблокировка по лицу, намного лучше 7 серии! Но, как мало света, все.. отпечаток.. Отлично работают все банк приложения с этим анлоком по лицу!! И оплаты! Минусы: 1. Связь.. та же беда как и у пиксель 7!! Отваливается там где 13про стабильно держит .. при том что может быть почти полный значек сети или половина.. он отвалился моментом и снова в сети, но звонок то прерван…..Возможно вскоре подправят прошивками как на 7, 2. Скользкий и сзади, маркий. 3. Динамики.. отстой .. звук хуже 7 .. айфон 13про плотный четкий звук, тут слишком выперает высокие.. черезчур.. в речи где «с» будет резать слух.. на макс громкости не комфортно, нужно тише делать из за того»» «тсиканья» 4. Экран… сраные все блогеры .. экран говно!!! По яркости ниже 13про.. ау о каком мега крутом экране вы все ссыте в уши людям?!! На макс яркости он дает картинку как 13про на 80%… ну и естественно при стандартном использовании яркости на 60-70% он дает хуже картинку.. контраст, яркость и тд, чем тот же айфон, который вплоть до 40% дает прекрасную картинку и не режет глаза.. и да при понижении яркости до 30% и ниже устают глаза , так как шим( раньшп этим не замарачивался, были пиксели разные, сейчас даже 4 остался и он лучше , не напрягаетглаза. Да и 7 пиксель был приятней на низком освещении) 5. Отпечаток пальца.. с.. ка говно.. как и на 7.. сначала настраиваешь все четко работает супер пупер, и после пары минут.. он начинает толи забывать то ои.. с .. ка тупит и не принимает пальцы либо из 4х настроеных один работает более менее а другие.. и сильнее жмешь и так и сяк.. короче говно Вообщем, я растроен и остался на афйоне до следуйщей заменя на 15про или может 9 пиксель устранят недочеты.. особенно с обрывом связи.. при том что сеть полная или на половину..

Отваливается там где 13про стабильно держит .. при том что может быть почти полный значек сети или половина.. он отвалился моментом и снова в сети, но звонок то прерван…..Возможно вскоре подправят прошивками как на 7, 2. Скользкий и сзади, маркий. 3. Динамики.. отстой .. звук хуже 7 .. айфон 13про плотный четкий звук, тут слишком выперает высокие.. черезчур.. в речи где «с» будет резать слух.. на макс громкости не комфортно, нужно тише делать из за того»» «тсиканья» 4. Экран… сраные все блогеры .. экран говно!!! По яркости ниже 13про.. ау о каком мега крутом экране вы все ссыте в уши людям?!! На макс яркости он дает картинку как 13про на 80%… ну и естественно при стандартном использовании яркости на 60-70% он дает хуже картинку.. контраст, яркость и тд, чем тот же айфон, который вплоть до 40% дает прекрасную картинку и не режет глаза.. и да при понижении яркости до 30% и ниже устают глаза , так как шим( раньшп этим не замарачивался, были пиксели разные, сейчас даже 4 остался и он лучше , не напрягаетглаза. Да и 7 пиксель был приятней на низком освещении) 5. Отпечаток пальца.. с.. ка говно.. как и на 7.. сначала настраиваешь все четко работает супер пупер, и после пары минут.. он начинает толи забывать то ои.. с .. ка тупит и не принимает пальцы либо из 4х настроеных один работает более менее а другие.. и сильнее жмешь и так и сяк.. короче говно Вообщем, я растроен и остался на афйоне до следуйщей заменя на 15про или может 9 пиксель устранят недочеты.. особенно с обрывом связи.. при том что сеть полная или на половину..
