I mean it is mentioned that Clay can still be briefly burned, but his scales will heal shortly afterwards so this could still be 100% canon lol

Actually, clay can still be burned, but his scales heal much quicker. You most likely read the brightest night, and in the final moments of the book clay is mentioned to have a scar on his upper thigh from the burn peril inflicted upon him to save his life. In book 6, (moonwatcher’s book) it mentions that clay has a limp. (Btw this wasn’t meant to offend, just to inform
