guys listen very closely to what this guy says about fighting from inside, I used to be a good wrestler just because i was fast enough to be able to shoot from outside, but my game was taken to a completely new level by making an effort to start fighting from the ties, it is extremely true that you learn so much more about wrestling when your inside, you learn head positioning, leverage, putting pressure to make angles, being patient and taking good shots, so much more...thanks for the vid man

I sometimes back up and circle away from the other guy's closest leg. I know he says not to ever back up, but I find that a lot of guys take bigger steps with that closer leg when I do. Once they take a big step with that close leg, I shoot for a low single or high crotch.

Meh... in a square stance you have to defend both legs. Actually quite a bit of offense from the Square dance.

I'm kind of new at this sport so maybe it's my inexperience but, in the defensive posture shown in this video, how does one defend against swing singles with it? The feet seem kind of far from the hands and head.

It doesn't do a great job... The lead leg is definitely vulnerable in this stance, but it compensates for it with offensive possibilities. I suggest square stance for beginners; learn defense and finishing first.
