Basic Strategies to Get Around a Lead Leg to the Face! +80 LARIN RUS vs CHO GBR Grand Prix Taoyuan 2

Slower Game in the +80kg as compared to the other fights I cover. TBH you could probably just watch 2nd a 3rd round and be just fine.
Take aways-
Both players extremely strong defensively, able to evade with minimal footwork and 2 arm blocking.
GBR - Nice job applying his strength as often as possible and some very nice, very close headshots (If you're looking for how to time your lead leg to the face watch this for sure!)
RUS - Amazing job trying to getting around the strong front leg defense of GBR. Tried multiple ways of doing it and while it wasn't tactic or play that brought him ahead - his ring and game management after scoring his initial point allowed him to score more points due to his knowledge of GBR being forced onto offense. Well Played sir, well played.

I'm about 5'5. I can kick up to like 6'4. Is 8:48 a good way to beat a front leg fighter who uses his front leg to clash? I do karate not tkd so I usually get punched in the head because we have on headgear with a facemask but I can work on keeping my hands up. I just wanted to know if that's a good way to beat a front leg user?.

Yes, if they lift to cancel and clash. If they do a forward side kick, you'll need to hook their leg. I have a tutorial video on spinning for that. Best of luck in Karate though! Also if that's not what you're looking for let me know
