Thank you for taking the time to prepare and share such a helpful video. I've been messing around with 5-string (open-G) and 4-string tenor (GDAe) banjos now for a few months, and I'm quite fond of music by the Pogues, so this has been a very helpful introduction to a roll pattern that is quite useful for a beginner with such interests. So thanks again, and best wishes to you.

Great. Thanks for that. I'm starting out playing the banjo and finding it hard to find basic Irish songs to learn. This should help build the confidence :)

@@Bainseo5 I guess the same picking pattern with work on a GDAE tuning, just different chord shapes. (For any fellow novices reading this, if you have a GDAE "Irish" tuned banjo then manolin tabs, chord sheets etc seem to work well as the same tuning).

Ok, so there's a five string banjo so his one, or there is a 4 string tenor banjo mkr of an 'Irish' banjo its used in Irish music you see? So I would recommend tenor for Irish and five string for country, bluegrass and a few shanties.
