Dividing or segmenting a market is key for any marketer. By knowing the different types of potential customers we have we can better deliver a product or service that is tailored to them. In segmentation you group similar and dissimilar groups in ways to target them with products, services, or advertisements.

Really enjoyed this one, Mark. Very interesting topic to me. *_Benefits Segmentation_* - Pro Tip regarding Gatorade and hangover reduction: Tell your students to drink as much Gatorade as they possibly can _before_ they go to bed, not just when they wake up. *_Behavioral Segmentation_* - Dude. I feel your pain. For one of my best friends I flew to his bachelor party in New Orleans and then two weeks later flew to his wedding in Boston. They paid for the tux rental and the wedding hotel as gratitude BUT that reminds me of a wedding where I was simply a guest. Flew across the country to NYC; got a couple of nights in the hotel where the wedding dinner and after party were being held; bought a decent gift off the registry. *_THEN_* the groom's brother actually had the nerve to hold the money bag in front of me later in the evening. I wish someone would have taken a picture of the look I gave him. 😂

Dang. Yeah I tell my students skip the destination weddings as everyone will be broke afterwards and hate you :) or I tell them to simply not go to the wedding but send a nice gift or check. They will get over it
