Basic Kayak Fishing - Bait Fishing (Small Fish)
In this video I use a standard kayak with not many features to catch a nice feed of fish. Using some simple strategies and techniques without blowing the budget. A style of fishing that everyone can do with a basic kayak. This video we use a light rod with bait fishing in a saltwater bay in Australia sticking to the shallows to visually sight sand patches within weedbeds.

Really appreciate the no frills cheap kayak vid. Many are only able to afford something like this and so it's good to see what can be done with them. Cheers

Thats it not everyone can get a hobie so thought I would show what we used to do when we started out kayak fishing 😁
Way to go! Simplicity and portability is what kayak fishing is all about!!!
Cheers mate, as a beginner fisherman on a kayak, i appreciate the simple and no frills delivery. Congrats on your catch too!

I like the simple set up, thx for sharing. so many guys carry line and leaders etc. I don't anticipate making up rigs on a yak. would it be better to have some premade rigs and just clip onto the line?

On smaller kayaks like this I would go premade ones as it is a lot easier to do and quicker. On bigger kayaks where you can have more rods then you can tie your own out there a lot easier.
Thanks for the video. Im enjoying your commentary, peripheral observations and sense of humour, spinning a different style of yarn to other kayak vloggers. Keeping it simple is the way to go. How have you found the Environet to use. I wondered if I would find it too cumbersome. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Ta

Cheers for the kind words. I am not a huge fan of it, it's great for the fish but hooks get stuck in it easy and compared to other nets the fish hate seeing a big blue thing coming straight at them haha due to the fine mesh it also has a bit of drag going through the water

Thanks mate,very helpful for this 1st timer....cheers.
Hey mate, awesome vid How do you go with all the weight at the back and do you have any plugs in to keep all the water out?
@ChasingFish
Жыл бұрын
This kayak just has the one plug at the back which is screwed in to make sure water doesn't get inside the hull. In the back section can put scupper plugs in but if water comes in from side then it will fill up so that more of a personal preference or dependant on the conditions. Often will start with them in and then if water in there can pull them out to drain and then put them back in. Hope that helps 🙂
Hay mate, new to fishing and looking for a decent kyak set up without breaking the bank. Is there certain types of kyaks to stay away from and ones that provide certain features? Cheers 🍻

Hobie are best I have used. Vikings are also really good. From the down I would look around on KZread, but mainly got for length and width so it's harder to flip and fall out of.
