I really appreciate you sharing and your teaching. I have a question though. I’ve seen on Pretty Simple Music, that KC uses the same minor 2, to dominant 5, weather the destination cord is major 1 or minor 1. To the untrained ear it sound okay. What’s your take?

This is going to sound nuts. But hear me out. Watching your videos and a lot of what I'm seeing is a 4 chord progression with these tasty movement chords inbetween. What I think I'd like to figure out is, if I were to pick any progression of 4, is there a method to the madness to fill in that space in between? For example, I'd love to hear your gospel take on the Japanese Odo Shinko progression, using the IV7-V7-iii7-vi. Could you go IV7 (7 3)V7-ii3-5-1-6? I don't think that works right? Let me know what you think. Would be willing to throw some dollars at you to hear your ideas on this.

thanks for reply i understand now. 251 each time to the minor chords of the melody in minor scale. i noticed in your intro song which sounds good, you did not play a A diminish 7 to get to the D 7 to get to the G minor in the last phrasing? Which u instructed us? What did u do there instead? right at 0:11 (after the Eb Major ) then u go into something else its suppose to be A dimish 7 , D 7 .... Etc like you instructed.

I’m going to an Eb chord, so because I’m not going to Dm, I use a vi and vii passing chord to get to the Eb. The vii(is what I believe your thinking is Dm, but it’s actually a Bb/D

Hey James! While there is only one major scale, there are 3 types of minor scales. You are right when you say the 5th is major, but that’s a natural minor scale. I’m thinking of the harmonic minor scale which had a B instead of a Bb, or raised 7th. Good observations and good question.
