This is an excellent introduction to cleaning fossils. Thank you for taking the time methodically working through the various alternatives for different matrices and fossil types.

Good video. I'd like to see protecting fossils and the use of chemicals. Please work on the audio production of video with better microphones. Thanks !

We have found several specimens of various species of fossils. The majority were fragile and any sort of pressure crumbled our find. Any idea how to clean these with proper cleaning solutions?

You should not clean directly into a sink. Rock and sand particles can clog the sink and drainage system. Do it in a pot, and pour the water out into the garden, not down the sink.

So I have a question, long story short I found a fossilized black seashell stuck in a layer or granite. Now its extremely fragile and I want to clean and protect it and it's way out of my league. Who can I take this to?
