Basic English Grammar: When & how to add ‘s’
Are you confused about whether to add an ‘s’ at the end of a word? It’s not just for plural nouns, but also for verb endings, and there’s also a pronunciation issue in some cases. Then, there’s the added question of whether to add an apostrophe-even native English speakers get mixed up about that one! This lesson on when to add the ‘s’, and how exactly to add it, is designed to clarify all of this for you. Make sure to practice with the quiz after watching. www.engvid.com/basic-english-...

The 2 dogs' dinner... Is it correct?... Espero que lo veas en inglés (KZread me lo traduce al español)

Yes, it's correct and the reason we put the apostrophy at the end is because we are talking about two dogs, hence dogs', if we were talking about a single dog, then it would be "dog's". Hope this helps.

Sometimes I add "s" to the second person, I say " you speaks"😅, because it's what happends in spanish, the second person adds "s": "tú hablas", but not the therd person "el habla"😅
Good morning mem
How to pronounce an English word.please ma'am make a video about pronunciation.
Like the vid for viral
Дякую за це пізнавальне та цікаве відео!
The dog's asleep adding s mean is and the dog you mean is one dog so you adding is as a singular ? If i said dogs are asleep is correct or still dogs is asleep. Little bit confused.
The 's' letter can really be a pain in the 's' if you do not know how to use it properly. Otherwise, a bad 's' letter.😎
“There’s no S in the feature” Noted.
Ma'm would you like to make video on the topic What we use to indicate the animal i-e he or it I searched the whole youtube but no one satisfied me
Can you please explain why goose are geese but moose are not meese?
Ma'm would you like to make video on the topic What we use to indicate the animal i-e I searched the whole youtube but no one satisfied me
why do people add "s" after "no"? such as "no publications", and "no symptoms"
the latter one I would have called it the saxon genitive wouldn't I
What if there are many dogs and we are talking about their dinner? 😅 for example neighbours cats ate our dog’s dinner. (We have three dogs) dear me…should I say dinners in that case?
@gboldero1

The apostrophe goes after the "s" in plural genitive nouns, and unless they are sharing one "dinner", you should say "dinners" and it should be "Our neighbour's/neighbours cats'" so it should be "Our neighbour's/neighbours' cats ate our dogs' dinner/s." or you could say "The cats of our neighbour/s ate the dinner/s of our dogs."
Mam I can't understand the apostrophe
I need to prepare the dog's dinner.
It was surprise for me that in sentence:"The dog's asleep" you use apostrophe. It sound like "asleep" belongs to dog.
@carmensandoval1561
5 ай бұрын
It is an apostrophe used instead of "is", and in this case the whole sentence must be understood in participle, meaning that the dog is not awake. You can say The dog is ('s) sleeping or The dog is ('s) asleep. Not as nicely explained as Gill would, though😊
But what about Nobody knows, Who knows, Everyone knows ?
No apostrophe.
the dog's asleep
