This series of 4 classroom sessions for the Game Master and Players aims at providing you with all the information you will require for playing a Tabletop Roleplaying Game.
Lesson One: Basic Game Mechanics.
Lesson Two: Basic Combat Mechanics.
Lesson Three: Complex Combat Mechanics.
Lesson Four: Magic Mechanics.
The 4 sessions span across a period of 1 months (1 session per week), with each session lasting between 1.5 and 2 hours.

You reroll initiative at the beginning of each combat encounter. Page 88 of Core Rule Book.
COMBAT INITIATIVE! After surprise turns, the GM calls for new initiative. Everyone makes a Dexterity check (the GM uses the highest Dexterity modifier of any monsters). pg 88 Determining one initiative for the entire game doesn't make sense, otherwise there would be no point in having initiative for enemies and combat would get stale. Crawling initiative could be static or not. I like to keep it changing to make the game interesting, but I play online, so the clockwise rule doesn't work.

Also pg 88 Multitask. Characters can do small, parallel tasks on their turns, such as standing up, speaking, activating a magic item, or quaff i ng a potion. This doesn't typically use their action. So essentially it's the same as 5e, just GM determines what these multitasking are. Personally I don't allow standing from prone as multitasking. If you're prone, you use your action to stand.

Hi, enjoyed your video. If I understand the rules correctly, initiative for combat is not the same as the out of combat initiative 😊
