This technique is fine for industrial type cleaning of large areas that do not have newer laminate or other types of flooring but for homes with new flooring this is too much water and a back breaking technique. For homes use a flat mop and apray or wet the mop and ring out thoroughly to barely damp. New flooring must never be mopped with a wet mop. Mop in a M-W patters front to back going with the grain of the flooring. This technique uses the arms and legs rather than the back of the side to side mopping. Utilizing arms and legs for leverage is a more ergonomic way to save the back from twisting thus tiring the back or causing injury or additional pain if the back is already weak , it also allows for a "scrub" of the floor that the side to side motion does not accomplish. If cleaning several houses the M-W front to back technique will give better results and will ease back pain or possible straining. As a housekeeper my time is of the essence and being able to mop several floors as needed and not tiring aids me in managing the floors task. For large industrial floors the side to side technique saves time but is wise to use a back support when mopping. Thank you, A Housekeeper. 😊
