Thanks I was wandering if my tv was trimming video edges but apparently that's how that video was recorded. Helpful video!

Just for shits and gigglesI bought a dvi to hdmi cord and it works but devices plugged my 1680x1050 don't always want to display properly. The monitor says the switch was out putting 1440x900 and the circles looked perfectly fine A google Chromecast putputs 640x480 and is stretched to the edges so the circles are ovels and very blurry. The Steam Deck actually outputs 1680x1050. I thought that having two different connectors would mean two different types of output so you would need some kind of hardware that can translate the signal but apparently not. Also if your device doesn't have some kind of audio output then well it's DVI and DVI doesn't have audio so you're screwed. Funny enough the Steam Deck usues the in built speakers for audio because it somehow knows there is no audio on the monitor. Clever girl
