Honestly they were probably transporting it while flying, TSA doesn’t have the best reputation with these instruments.

I play alto sax, and I feel the same feeling for wanting a baritone sax, and mainly because I'm Brazilian, here we treat the instruments as if they were our lives

I love the laugh at the beginning. It’s like ‘haha ya messed this up real good’
You have sold me on the oxygen and acetylene tank setup. We have only run the various tips with just the b tanks but I realize that we really need that setup you have. Nice work, Sir!!!

correct me if im wrong but im fairly sure thats normal
As an old panelbeater I gotta say, you got some skills there my friend. Impressed.
Anyone can pull a rabbit out of a hat. You Sir took a smashed piece of bass and turned it into a musical instrument and we watch you do it.
My bari's neck broke one time from the neck slot popping off from the rest of the neck. Instead of fixing it, the repair shop just put a new neck in the case. It works just fine, but it's nice to see the extra effort you put into things like these
I appreciate the finish your repairs have. Many of the horns my middle and high school had sported some of the toughest finish and marks I've ever seen. You seem to put the time in to put them right and I love to see it.
You are the master of brass instruments on KZread! Thanks so much for making these videos! You always brighten my day! Cheers!
Man.... This guy is super fantastic and fascinating. I mean, he's good. He's beyond good. HE'S BEYOND FANTASTIC. No.... Beyond than that...... I don't know. What a great work of repairing!
I am really into violinmaking and associated luthiery. Comparing that to this is actually very interesting, its a lot of very comparable work and I find this very interesting, Keep up the good work! I enjoy watching these!
Wes, I just this week discovered your channel. Am fascinated with what you do. It was a career I contemplated at one time but life has a way of making changes in your directions. I graduated from Southern Miss. in Music Ed. in 1972. Was a band director at Sumrall for about a month before my draft number came up so joined the Air Force and got into electronics and spent the next 45 years in that industry retiring as an electrical engineer for a defense company. I know the area you are located very well and if I get back there again would love to stop in and meet you. Keep up the good work on your channel.

I just found him within the past week or so! I've watched tons of repair videos and Wes, you are as awesome an entertainer as you are a musical instrument repair technician! Love your stuff. Would love to have you do a masterclass for music teachers!

Это искусство так восстанавливать музыкальный инструмент, браво!!!
I love those skills and techniques you show. Subbed!
Man, do I love metal! I guess it could be the most versatile thing on the planet. Where would we be without it? Thanks for all of the great videos. Really enjoy them! 👍😊
Your skills and workmanship are amazing.
Labor and art should be respected...👏
Loved how he reinforced the neck after it’s repair!!
I started working on Jewelry in 1980. The “Little Torch” was my main torch. I also started working on instruments in 1990 and the little torch just wasn’t big enough for most of that work. I use a bigger Meco torch so I can “Get in and Get out” quick. Saves lots more lacquer and minimizes clean up. Then the little torch is great for pretty solder lines.
My toddler loves these videos.
AMAZING REPAIR. AWESOME.
Very very very precious work. Thank you for sharing.
That…was a mind blowing repair job!
Simply incredible Wes!
Brilliant tools brilliant work
Incredible work! Wowwww Thanks again for posting. Mario
Favorite comfort youtuber
That actually happened to one of our tenor sax players this year in marching band
Lovely work
He does great work like an artist. During the video a text message alert can be heard and I thought it was my cellphone.😁
Your grip strength has to be amazing
Would you ever consider an apprentice such as myself with a heavy background in welding/soldering and manual and CNC machining. You do some truly good work and I dig it!
The devilish chuckle at the beginning is funny 😃
1. Make a tight-fitting plug chuck to hold the neck 2. Heat the brass, probably to anneal it 3. Remove the major bend by bending it back the other way and a few light blows with a ball peen hammer 4. Remove major dents using a dent rod 5. Use dent balls of various sizes to bolster the inside of the neck while shaping the outside with a flat-face hammer 6. Smooth everything out with a burnishing tool 7. Solder on a new brace
When a sax neck is damaged like that, even if you can get it to look perfect, it’s never going to play the same again. Amazing restoration tho.
*muito bom, parabéns*
Nice work sir 👌👌
You're a magician!
Meus parabéns, tem que ter muita abilidade para esse tipo se serviço.
The chuckle when he saw it made me chuckle
You are a pure magician!
Your really good Wes.👍
Mad respect
That laugh was strangely contagious
reminds of the time i saw a band director hold a bari sax by nothing but the neck, surprised this isn’t that happened to it 😂
С удовольствием смотрю .вааще мастер. 👍👍👍.
Das ist hohe Kunst! Respekt!
Those are interesting tools. After your done do you usually replate the pieces?
Só você mesmo!
Wow, that's amazing
I’m really hoping you just pick the most interesting repairs for your videos because I’m starting my to worry much of your clientele has 0 idea how to hold an instrument

there are things called unintended falls Also if you're in a marching band and you set your instrument down for whatever reason, if some idiot steps on it, not really your fault either and many instruments have bad cases that just let the contents fly any which way during transit I'd like to imagine these are mostly what happened to his clientele
Это круто. Спасибо за видео. Как-раз, после службы в военном оркестре, пытаюсь восстановить старый геликон. Инструментов нет, но теперь есть представление, как их сделать.
Impressive
👍 KNOWING AND THE ABILITY TO WORK THE METAL IS NOT SOMETHING MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE ABILITY TO DO
Mano, como o cara conseguiu entortar o tudel desse jeito?
Отличная работа!👍 У вас горелка бензиновая?
Hey if you can fix that, you could definitely fix the caved in bedside on my 1979 c10 chevy
Ouch, that was a brutal one.
That curve was a punch in the gut
Do you repair Etude Trombone slides (minor tubing dents) ? Great Videos.
damn, you the man!!
yo how tf did that happen but also im glad the horn itself looks fine haha
Where do u learn to do that type of stuff fixing instruments
Sheeeshh I Hope I have that one sax
Genius!
Дядя, ты очень крут. Невероятно крут👍
This is the perfect job for a plumber and former brass and woodwind player. Need an apprentice?
Is that an Antigua bari sax looks just like mine that is currently getting fixed
Craftsman. Nice.
That neck piece tho btw is it a alto or the other I forgot the name
How do you get the little round ball that you use for bumping back out?
Why did they ship you the whole sax just for the neck?
Мастер!!!
a Bari is a stab in the country I live, so this hurts even more
Are we gonna talk about how he blow torched the neck the bent it with his bare hand?!!??!
Qual é nome dessa solda ?
I had that model for my first 3 years of marching band and it pains me to see the neck like that. Even tho I absolutely hated that sax it still hurt my soul.
I am very curious as to what happened to cause that neck piece to be so bent like that lmao
How did that even happen?
as a bari sax player this hurts me
Wow
Máster !!
Omg what happened to that neck?!
How much to fix my mark vi Tenor neck lol
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Блин вот мастер!!!
Why did I think he was opening a casket at the beginning 😳
Now we know why musical instruments are made of brass!!!
Bro what on in the history of earth happend to that poor baritone sax’s neck😳

How can I find u
OOHHH IT TOOK ME 3 WATCHES TO DISCOVER THAT YOU TOOK THE SUPPORT FROM ANOTHER NECK PIECE 🤔 I THOUGHT HUMMM DO WHAT THEN I SAW THAT THE 2 PART'S WERE FROM DIFFERENT INSTRUMENTS
🙂
Beautiful, way better than Viagra.
How the People can make that with their unstruments? Saludos desde Mexico
As a bari player that hurt

As a saxophonist this… how? Necks are decently strong, wtf and why..?? Mm
