My bari's neck broke one time from the neck slot popping off from the rest of the neck. Instead of fixing it, the repair shop just put a new neck in the case. It works just fine, but it's nice to see the extra effort you put into things like these

I appreciate the finish your repairs have. Many of the horns my middle and high school had sported some of the toughest finish and marks I've ever seen. You seem to put the time in to put them right and I love to see it.

Wes, I just this week discovered your channel. Am fascinated with what you do. It was a career I contemplated at one time but life has a way of making changes in your directions. I graduated from Southern Miss. in Music Ed. in 1972. Was a band director at Sumrall for about a month before my draft number came up so joined the Air Force and got into electronics and spent the next 45 years in that industry retiring as an electrical engineer for a defense company. I know the area you are located very well and if I get back there again would love to stop in and meet you. Keep up the good work on your channel.

I started working on Jewelry in 1980. The “Little Torch” was my main torch. I also started working on instruments in 1990 and the little torch just wasn’t big enough for most of that work. I use a bigger Meco torch so I can “Get in and Get out” quick. Saves lots more lacquer and minimizes clean up. Then the little torch is great for pretty solder lines.

    1. Make a tight-fitting plug chuck to hold the neck 2. Heat the brass, probably to anneal it 3. Remove the major bend by bending it back the other way and a few light blows with a ball peen hammer 4. Remove major dents using a dent rod 5. Use dent balls of various sizes to bolster the inside of the neck while shaping the outside with a flat-face hammer 6. Smooth everything out with a burnishing tool 7. Solder on a new brace

there are things called unintended falls Also if you're in a marching band and you set your instrument down for whatever reason, if some idiot steps on it, not really your fault either and many instruments have bad cases that just let the contents fly any which way during transit I'd like to imagine these are mostly what happened to his clientele
