Most frequently basenjis don’t have spots . The reason why Feenix does is because we live in the South and those are actually freckles

My basenji also has those spots on his stomach but more vague, the thing is he did not have them as a puppy and got them as he got older ( he is now three)

Those are freckles. They get them more when living in sunny areas. We are in SC

I believe some of the Ancient statues with dog heads are Basenji dog heads due to this ancient breed.

his eye movements and large alert ears remind me of my basenji mix. so beautiful and so aware. my boy was a mix but he looked just like a basenji with a 79 lb body size. I miss his yodel and kindness. I do not miss his ability to climb out of any enclosure, including my house. They're smarter than us. it's true.

I may get a male this next go round. My parents got their girl basenji when I was like 12 . She lived to be almost 18 and I couldn't have asked for a better dog. I think that's how we all feel no matter what the breed was once they get to share their lives with us.

Basenjis do shed very little . Mostly seasonal . Also depends on their diet
