    I totally agree - many contractors like to hide their individual costs and will only give a 'whole' price. I like to know exactly what i'm paying for and recommend that folks don't use a contractor who is reluctant to give a detailed breakdown of charges. It's the sign of an honest business transaction, which sadly is fairly rare, but there are honest tradespeople out there who will disclose the costs and if you find one, hang on to them and recommend the heck out of them to your contacts. These people deserve your business!

    Omg, you are still the best. I am stuck trying to figure out how to do this with only 420sq ft. at least I think it is 420 sq ft. I want to do 2 rooms a half latrine and a bedroom. Is there enough space for this? Is it possible to do this by myself minus the plumbing and electricity. My budget is on a budget.

    like yours video on basements ideas. I'm finish carpenter, I live in Michigan and trimmed a lot of basement. question. in a lot of basement I've seen, I never came across a plumber when installing a full bathroom in the basement installing a sewer ejection system. when is it necessary to install one? I've always see them running there under ground plumbing and there venting.

    Hi, Dear Sir. Would you be able to come to renovate my basement from start to finish? I have watched couple of your videos and I found out I like how you designed and renovate everything in the basement. I just recently bought a house and moved in except the basement is unfinished. We are looking to renovate it in these few months. Would you be able to come to see and estimate a price for us or do you have an email I can show you some pics? I will have to measure it and let you know how big is it. I am in Easton PA. Please reply thank you. Sincerely. We would like wood floor instead of carpet though..

    Wow. I must say this is amazing. I am just buying a home and thinking of doing the basement. This basement give or take will be 500-600 sq. ft. So it should be substantially less then your configurations. I did have one question for you. On Step 12 you said to make sure you do this last in terms of putting everything else up, what if I decided to stain my concrete floors. We are going for a loft feel in the basement. Would you still recommend to keep this option in Step 12 or do it right away to avoid putting up plastic and tape so the stain does not get on the walls? Again, I have watched quite a few of your videos and I can't thank you enough for sharing your knowledge and techniques.

  • @DIYRemodelVideos

    @DIYRemodelVideos

    I would still do it last because even though it's just stained concrete, you will mess up the finish when you drywall and paint. I would try and save this until the very end so it stays nice and new looking! I would save the base trim for very last after the concrete has been stained so you don't mess-up the base trim with the stain. Thanks for stopping by my channel! Eddie

    How much do you think an 8000 sq ft basement would cost with a 2000sq ft open room with 3.5 metre ceiling , and the other 6000sqft normal house height?

    I'm trying to get an idea of how much it would cost to do a bear bones finish of the basement. ours is the same sqaure feet of our house so about 1300 sqft/ There is already a bit of dry wall up and only about 3 walls still need it. how much would it cost usually to do just simple dry wall, trim and maybe having ceiling tiles installed. we were thinking of keep the floors concrete but like stained or painted. we also have 2 small basement like windows we wanted to replace.

  • @DIYRemodelVideos

    @DIYRemodelVideos

    7 жыл бұрын

    Hi! Full bath add $1,200 to $1,750 depending on the fixtures you purchase and whether or not you'll need to install a sewage ejector. An exterior door where there is no door or window in a basement that is 100% below grade a metal lid Bilco door unit will run you about $3,800.00(labor and materials), a standard door exit with glass door and concrete or hardscaped steps and retaining walls will run you $7,500 to $10,000.00 if you sub it out to an outside contractor...they are not cheap to put in! That should do it Viswanatha, that's another $1,200.00 of cost on the high-side. Eddie
