BASEL, SWITZERLAND - First Impressions 🇨🇭 | Travel Roulette | Europe Travel Vlog

In this vlog, we travel from Amsterdam to Basel, Switzerland in another round of “Travel Roulette”, where we look for the cheapest flights on the days we want to travel and just book them, no matter where it takes us!
Basel sits on the borders of both France and Germany. We visit the point where all three countries meet.
Basel ended up being a greatvolace to spend a couple ofnaoring days. We visit a very cool food market hall, see the natural history museum, and explore all over Basel in this video.
You can see our first TRAVEL ROULETTE video to Berlin, here:

ABOUT US
We are Nate and Katrina, two American expats living in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and traveling as much as we can to see what there is to see! We balance a busy career and grad school while we explore Europe and beyond. We would love to visit every country in Europe while we live here, and definitely keep a list of our global “must visit” destinations.
We probably won’t look or sound like many other travel vlogs out there. We really want to give you a true view of us and how we travel and explore the world. Lots of food, definitely some jokes, and probably some swearing…. Hope you enjoy taking these trips with us!

We call this "Travel Roulette" because we just choose the cheapest non stop flight on the dates we want to travel. This time we ended up in Basel! We spent a long weekend traveling the region and have a few more videos coming. You could easily spend a lot more time in just Basel, we really enjoyed it!

Travel roulette for the win!! We love this concept of traveling - should probably do more of that as long as we are in Europe. Everything so close, and for you guys we reckon its so cheap/easy as Amsterdam is such a hub. Stay safe and look forward to see more of your videos :)

Hello from Basel, the food looked really good, and no, it was butter, not fat (*laughs). By the way, in summer people like to bathe in the larger fountains. The "smallest museum" would also have been near the historical museum nearby, the trouser bag museum (a showcase in the door with small exhibits). By the way, the trams from Basel also go across the border to Germany and France, I think these are probably the most international trams in the world (at least I don't know where there is such a thing). But be careful, buy the right ticket for these trips!

@@nateandkatrinadotheworld You're just missing the summer season, evenings or weekends, the Rhine full of people cooling off and drifting in it before sunbathing on the banks, having a drink and enjoying the day/evening.

@@nateandkatrinadotheworld Before Schengen it was much clearer for obvious reasons. The Basel (SBB) station even had a French pre-clearance hall.
