"How do you get the idea for the stock?" "How do you get these stock?". Funny how he does not answer that question and says I don't look for ideas, it just comes to me haha. Yeah sure!

Buy his book 'The Thoughtful Investor". I purchased his book by Rs 1000 from him by depositing a cheque in ICICI Bank(a few years back). Later the book was also available in Amazon. It is the best book for long term investors in Indian context. But he doesn't follow his own book. He is a very smart guy. He changes his strategy according to market conditions. He is telling 'I buy stocks from sectors which have sector tailwind' . But now in 2019-20 he says... this is not his strategy now. There is one or two sector leaders which have canibalised all others... eg Bajaj Finanace has cannibalied other NBFCs of the same category though the sector is in doldrum(no tailwind). He must have Bajaj Finance..I suppose. When he buys stocks he buys 'truckloads of that stock'. I followed his book and purchased Bajaj Finance in 2011 as the company was showing sustainable earning growth of 25% or more quarter after quarter. Later I purchased that stock whenever price came down till 2019(during demonetisation, Brexit, NBFC crisis, Yes Bank crisis). Now market value of Bajaj Finance in my portfolio is more than 35% of my stock portfolio value. I recommend you to buy his book and also 'One up on Wall Street' by Peter Lynch.

But not for everybody...

He has also got luck. Be it 2001 terrorist or liquidity rush of 2000s. But how can he deny he made just by hard work nd not luck.
