I taught this to omar bouche then he went over to train with bas and showed him this. This became his go-to. I learned this in Judo as a choke pin then again in catch as a kesegatame attack

Ricco Rodriguez won a BJJ world title with this move. Always annoyed me it became the Bas Rutten move, like who did he ever hit this on lol.

@@luisalberto-st8bn Thank you I had no idea how it became that. Looked the guy up looks like he lost to every single guy that could grapple that he ever faced, lol. Never was a fan of naming moves after people anyway.

Can you pls break down in more detail what is your partner actually tapping to? Without that it's hard to practice such a move.

lol if you do it right they will make funny noises and then start tapping. the key is bending their body around yours whilst in heavy heavy kesa pressure. Works like an absolute charm against even very tough opponents. @@jinxit

Your partner is tapping due to the pressure applied to the chest. As you start squeezing your thights together it compresses the chest and makes it difficult to breathe+really painful too. the compression and the pain together makes the person tap.

@@oguzkormaliHe's probably one of those old school coaches who's against new and innovative techniques and what he means is that these techniques are illegal in his particular school but in competitions they aren't. I mean you can literally look up the rulesets of the most common competitions like NAGA, Grappling Industries and ADCC and you will see it's not illegal. They also all allow Ankle Locks even on the lowest levels so it's also false to say that leg locks are "illegal".

@@oguzkormali If your goal is to learn how to fight you can keep training there in my opinion. It's just that you will be at a disadvantage in pure grappling competitions when you get to a higher belt if you never train leg locks. For MMA and self defense it doesn't matter that much. But it is never wrong to check out other nearby gyms. In the end you are a paying customer and you want to receive the best possible service for your money.
