I really loved the Willie episode. Not only it was a love letter to Scotland, but the Belle and Sebastian cameo (and the original song at the end credits) really made me surprised.

Really nice that Willie got married and it’s interesting cause in one of the “early” seasons, Willie got drunk/high and was hallucinating possibly Maisy. Thanks Lydia today’s my birthday

I’m a quarter Scottish 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 via my paternal grandmother except she’s from Invergordon in the Highlands.

All I can say about this weekend's episode is MORE WILLIE! I'll automatically love any Willie-centric episode, especially if they give him a happy ending like this one did. And on Willie's tough old Scott's terms as well. And while I am not a huge Dr. Who guy, I loved hearing David's Scrooge McDuck voice in this episode. I'm also not a fan of Marge and Homer's marriage being in doubt, a well they go to way too many times, I LOVED how Homer spent the episode dreading a destination wedding only to wind up in one anyway. One of the writers clearly had a terrible time at one and needed to vent. Homer's rant felt like a tight five about destination weddings, and framing it as spending the entire day in different activities whining about it. And then to cap it off a few scenes later when a drunken Homer is woken up by Bart only to start his rant again. That said, I did enjoy the Thanksgiving Simpsons. It didn't need the flash forward. But I was more disappointed Bob's Burgers skipped its annual Thanksgiving episode for something less specific. A good episode, and last year's Thanksgiving episode was disappointing, but I REALLY wanted to know if Bob actually got to cook his turkey this year.

I would be shocked, SHOCKED, (well, not that shocked.) if we ever see Maisie again. Willie himself is rather middle of the road in how much he's getting used, so unfortunately, I think this is another Maya and Moe situation. Plus, outside the show, if The Simpsons wasn't owned by the Mouse, I'd question if they had Karen Gillan money, too.

I'm here to yell about David Tennant and Karen Gillan in Willie's wedding. Love it so much. The theater major scabs were great.

As much as I enjoy additional female characters I don't think every lost cause male character should be given a lady love in order to give them their happily ever afters. Though Selma does deserve a husband she can love and rely on. That goal needs to be achieved before the series end.

I thought I was going to end up hating the Thanksgiving episode because I'm tired of "the town blames Homer for something" plots, but I ended up really enjoying the second half. And I agree with your idea that more time should have been devoted to seeing Springfield in that 1800s style. I absolutely loved that section of the episode.

16:48 -17:15 You hit it on the nail! I was hyped when Kumiko and Naima were doing things on The Simpsons but then I realized that it'll be another 5 years before they do anything slightly important again.

Honestly, marge was more of the wrong in the Willie episode homer maybe a jerk when it comes and does not want to go to the wedding, but marge being drunk and call homer out and add on to the fight is on her fault

You know it's a good epsiode when David Tennet is playing a Scottish character 14:38 Also the return of Leopold

Me personally, just really loved how we got to see zia,and bart's kids again, and seeing their kids and knowing the Simpson children are grandparents feels really..Well, it sure does make you feel old if you're a long time Simpsons fan. And I love how Willie got his own episode.

You had me at David Tennant and Karen Gillan I only wish they could do an episode with my favorite Doctor and Companion actors Slyvester McCoy and Sophie Aldred next. Congrads on Your New Book Lydia I'll have to keep an Eye out for it!

The Thanksgiving episode felt so rushed and confusing. There were too many plot points to keep track of and almost seemed like it should have been one of their hour long episodes instead.

Nice to see a couple of Doctor Who actors appear in the Simpsons. Also ironic for David and Karen starring together since years ago, David starred with Arthur Darvill (who played Rory in Dr Who) in the drama series Broadchurch, also starring Jodie Whittaker

Yaaaay, Scotland 😂. In all honesty it was nice to see Willie have a happy ending 😊

The Willie episode was a nice surprise. They actually gave him a happy marriage.

The friends without benefits line was extra special hearing it because a few months before tne air date i was at a local pub with some buddies and we were makjng jokes about how close we are a d always hangout together with the punchline of "we're not just friends, we're friends without benefits" 😂

And on the book, I love how it's formatted and I love the toys section, those DanDee plushes are so charming! And I didn't even know Simpsons Cookie Jars were a real thing! Yeah good point about the va artist, I can't see Karen Gillan being available too often. But I guess she can pop in once a season if they get a few recordings done in a session. Thank you so much! Yes DanDee was a huge part of the merchandise. When we planned this book we originally only intended to look at the toys, but the Simpsons has licensed so much merchandise that the book ballooned to over 300 pages 😂

1:41 I would watch you react to yourself watching your old videos. Reacting to your own videos is something you don't see other reactions channels do. Also I think you should update The Simpsons Timeline to include the alternative future scenes. Also if Bart's predictions in Flander's Ladder were true then Marge should of re-married to Ned sometimes after Homer's death. Guess that happened further in the future since she's technically now married to just his hologram.

Hey Lydia! So, I have actually now seen the episodes "Pixelated & Afraid", and "A Serious Flanders". Both were great! The first one ended like how many of the older episodes did, with Homer and Marge riding off into the sunset together, I thought it was nice to bring that back. I have not seen the show that the Flanders episode is based off of, so the ending was odd, and i like the extra unordinary violence that we don't see as much in the Simpsons haha. I have yet to see the newest episode or the one before that, episode 7 from this current season, but I do have them recorded and set to watch, so i am skipping this upload of yours until after I see them! Between many of the modern episodes I have seen now, I will say that I miss Mrs. K a ton, and I actually miss the jerka** version of Homer. Seeing a more mild loving Homer isn't bad, but maybe they need to ease up on it, just my own take on that! :)

Happy to see Willie got his happy ending.

I missed the first episode but I enjoyed the Willie one. Always great to see some new developments and lore for our favorite side bits

Yes, the first episode in this video seems as if they were trying to put in too much for a single episodes running time and getting a too rushed/a bit flat ending out of it, and that some things overall just felt lazy. On the other hand with the next episode I love that Willy got some focus again and a happy ending, that was so nice. I always had a feeling that the longer Simpsons will go on, there will be things added, where you'll need to add to/change some of your timelines (more or less), frustrating as it might be.

Video idea... Homer's song writing ability. Hes written several hit songs, both with the B Sharps and later when he wrote "Everybody Hates Ned Flanders" Its kinda strange that so much of character revolves around his incompetence and buffoonery...but no one seems to make any mention or really acknowledges a talent hes showcased multiple times

I made a video called 'How music made the Simpsons' but it's quite an old video now. So it may not hold up as much 🙂

I completely agree that the first of the 2 episodes was way too similar to the movie, and the ending was so lazy but I still enjoyed some of it same as you. As for the second one, The second one I loved it once I realized that it was Karen and David! The Whovian inside me was screaming like a happy little boy! I do agree that it would’ve been nice to have Lisa do a little bit more. I don’t know if Maisie will ever come back. I would like to see her come back for sure but guess there’s no way to really know because as you said, wife’s just seem to disappear a lot on the show. I think reacting to your old videos would make a fun video! The book should be under my Christmas tree. I can’t wait!

@@TheSimpsonsTheory Hahaha none of us are thrilled by how we used to be! If it makes you feel any better I still personally go back and watch some of the old ones especially the actual theories. I miss you doing those, but I know I can’t always be easy to actually think of one now especially with how long they’ve been going and the fact that by the time you think of something they may have already answered it or it’s already been debunked like some of the existing theories have been now. Hahaha
