I'm pretty sure the original version is a more direct sample of duke Ellington and John Coltrane, this one they had to recreate it. The beat just mixed better with the original sample

Still can tap into his entire catalog, Mac Miller fans and there’s a lot of us will tap in and show immense respect and support

When people disrespect Mac and say, “Well his bars weren’t that good or creative.” I just get silent, find this song and put it on and make them listen. I’ve never found anyone who disliked Mac after showing them Diablo. The shit goes insanely hard and showed just how creative and technical he was lyrically.

It’s honestly bittersweet that Mac blew up in the mainstream when he died. Happens to every rapper pretty much. I was in high school a few years ago and even then KIDS was everywhere. We loved him. We played him at parties, listened to him in the halls, listened to him after school or even in class. He deserved all the fame and worked his ass off but he always seemed like he really enjoyed rapping and didn’t think of it like a job. Scoop on heaven is one of my favorites by him, even if it is kind of a sad one. His entire catalog is incredible. RIP to a legend that my high school experience wouldn’t have been complete without.

this just made me so happy omg, mac is one of my favorite artist of all time and the album this song is on is one of his best projects ever called faces, yall should dive into that album asap, this is one of my favorite songs from the album tho RIP mac forever edit: more background on faces his rapping ability, flows, lyrics, instruments and beats he uses its just all a 10/10 for me and not to mention he was in his words "i was not on planet earth when i made faces. no where close" meaning the album is filled with drug use and psychedelic feeling, album feelings like an amazing trip
