It's funny. I just watched this movie after not having seen it since my teens. A few observations. Then I thought Redmond to be a villain that got what he deserved. Now, I think he's practical and sort of honorable. This movie is the closet thing to a moving fine art painting you will ever see, which I believed then and still do. I thought this music played almost incessantly and unrelentingly during the whole movie and now I find it only plays when Barry Lyndon 'comes to Court' and starts living clearly above his station. I don't know why but it's sort of soul crushing in the film's context. It's a testament to the power of the music and the genius of Kubrick that it left such an impression.
My favourite from the film. How he edits the scene where he meets Lady Lyndon is amazing, the music literally fits perfectly to every litt movement the characters make. He had a great understanding of music.
Name my favorite movie? Barry Lyndon...the only reason I can give is that it is Perfect. I listen to the soundtrack over and over. Helps me walk more slowly...
The music fits in perfectly to the scenes even though it was not composed during that period.
It plays on the bluray menu too. It is one of the finest films ever made and is one of the most beautiful blu-ray movies out there.
Great to see so many fans of this wonderful soundtrack and film. The Vivaldi cello theme in the 2nd half gets me every time too.
I can almost hear the narrator's voice in my head as I listen.
IT BRINGS YOUR DEEP MEMORIES
The most visually beautiful film ever made. As a matter of fact the images and music are so beautiful it makes me giddy.
Τέλειο, αυτή ειδικά η εκτέλεση. Πάντα μου φέρνει δάκρυα στα μάτια
Haunting, superb!!
Simply sublime.
we studied this in my music class... love it!
envoûtant hypnotisant goose bumps
One of my favorite films and soundtracks. Thanks for sharing.
Magnificent!!! Thank you for uploaded!! I loved it!!!
Filme e música belíssimos.
damn, I had this tune in my head for days without remembering which movie it was from, it made me completly insane trying to figure it out, I thought it was from a silent film at first but suddenly it just hit me that it was from barry lyndon XD
This melody has been haunting me for some time as it has been used in at least 3 films - first in Phantom of the Opera [silent film], Barry Lyndon and Hunger with Bowie and C. Deneuve. Amazing classical music. Yeah it fit Barry Lyndon the best - so aristocratic.
just elegant !
