Well Barry, you're past 64, but I for one would keep you around forever. You're a treasure ❤ The two groups are tied for the most number one songs ever written, wonder if they would count the ones that Barry writes now, hmm? Probably not, they would put it under his solo career more than likely. Long live, the lovely and talented Barry Gibb, and bless him and his family.

My daughter is a huge McCartney fan, and she shared this one with me. Since I'm a huge Barry Gibb fan, this is such a treat.

It's been ten years since this was released. I remember it was a tribute album for Paul Mac with many other famous names recording the Beatles songs. Written by Paul when he was only 14 years old but credited as a Lennon/McCartney song. It's a bouncy little number and Barry sounds so good on it. Lovely to hear it again Chad thank you x

Barry did a cameo appearance on the Christmas episode of Saturday Night Live in December 2013. Paul McCartney was on the same episode. Barry was still deep into grief over his brothers, and he said Paul McCartney gave him a pep talk, about living and creating again. I don't know if that had anything to do with this...but it was about the same time.

What a nice Sunday morning..a great reaction from the one and only Chad!😊 This "bouncy" cover of When I'm 64 that Barry does is so good, as only he can do. His sweet voice just shines and he's so adorable doing it. The Bee Gees and The Beatles always had alot of respect for each other and that says alot about them both. Yes, Barry is past 64 but his voice is still amazing and he still has so much music in his soul. I'm so thankful to Barry for sharing his love of music with all of us for all these years, and continues to do so. He and his brothers will always be so loved.♥️♥️♥️♥️ May God bless you, dear Barry and your family always.🙏 Thanks Chad! I love being on this journey with the Brothers Gibb with you. You're the best my friend!👍 Have a blessed day.🙏❤️

This song was part of a 2014 collection called "The Art of McCartney" where various music legends recorded cover versions of songs Paul wrote while he was a member of The Beatles and as a solo artist. 'When I'm Sixty-Four' is all Paul. John Lennon may have added a few lines, but Paul wrote this when he was 14, before he ever met John.

Does remind me of Technicolor Dreams & love Barry's sweet vocals! This was part of an 11 year project that began in 2003, with official release of The Art of McCartney in 2014, a 42-track deluxe set. Those artists participated in the project.👍

That was a great cover by Barry and tribute to Paul. If this was in 2014 Barry was older than 64. Still sounds great and still handsome. Thank you , great way to start the day❤❤

This is a fun song and Barry did an amazing cover of it! I've heard this cover, I think, once or twice before, but I don't recall ever knowing what it was for until now. Also, I never knew that Barry and Robin, actually, eventually, met Paul McCartney after all those years ago as teenagers when they moved from Australia back to England and got off the boat and saw just the backs of the Beatles! That's really cool to know!

Their most covered song is “Yesterday” with over 2,200 different cover versions. John & Paul agreed early on to credit all of their songs as ‘Lennon & McCartney’ regardless of which of them wrote it. Great video. Thanks Chad!

Hi Chad, another very enjoyable reaction. I'm a bit late to the party, but I am on my holidays and internet connection is touch and go here. And I do spend time with my family of course. But I have some down time now. 😃 So nice to get to see the reactions that you've done in the weekend.

McCartney wrote the song before they were famous and would sometimes play it on the piano in jest if there was a technical issue holding them up. It's far from Barry's first time performing The Beatles. The Bee Gees and/or Peter Frampton were the primary performers in the 1978 film also titled Sgt. Pepper (and George Martin produced the double album soundtrack). The film features other major artists including Earth, Wind And Fire, Alice Cooper, Billy Preston (performing Get Back) and Aerosmith, amongst others.

This song reminds me of the BeeGees Technicolor Dreams which I love. The clarinet is prominent in both, and the rhythm seems similar. Barry was the perfect choice to cover this sweet song.

I didn't know this existed, thanks for sharing. I never really cared for this song all that much, but I like Barry's version much better (but maybe I'm partial), the style kind of reminds me of Technicolor Dreams (maybe influenced by this song??). Anyway, a fun Sunday morning surprise. Thanks.

Chad, great reaction as always. I didn't know about this album so I'll definitely have to check it out later. When I was young all those many years ago 😊 Paul was definitely my first crush and later, when Robin arrived on the scene in 1967, Paul had a little competition, just saying! But, in all seriousness, I really love how, over the years, our guys showed their admiration for their predecessors by singing a beautiful tribute to them on "The Midnight Special" and performing in a "not so successful" movie that actually did give us some of the best Beatles covers ever sung. How could you go wrong with those fabulous three part harmonies on many of those "Sgt. Pepper" tracks. And, by the way, "Oh, Darling" is just an amazing cover sung by our precious Songbird. So, it's wonderful to see Barry continue this wonderful tribute to Paul and the rest of the group with his "When I'm 64" cover, definitely a "bouncy" tune Paul gave to us to love all those years ago. ❤

Too bad "Oh Darling" wasn't included in the tribute because it was superb and only one of two songs from that stinker of a movie that made the top 40. I believe Robin was already dead when the tribute was done.

Yep, stinky movie, but I still listen to the album. I actually like the one ("Because") with Alice Cooper, even though the brothers did not. Good grief now I'm humming "...the Hendersons will all be there...

In general, with the Beatles. The one who wrote the song is on the lead vocal.

I always loved this song. McCartney was a specialist in the lighter style of composition (although not his only style) whereas John tended to do the heavy and often biting lyrics. They were yin and yang complimenting each other's styles on the same songs but as they matured their songs could easily be identified as written by one of the other although still under the Lennon/McCartney label until they split. I prefer the original, as I think a lot of people tend to do with covers, maybe due to their familiarity with them. You should listen to Paul's just on your own just for comparison. This is similar to "Technicolour Dreams" but this song proceeded it by over 30 years. The Bee Gees really idolised The Beatles as did most up and coming groups in the 60's and that is why they returned to the UK, to get in on the tsunami they created. There would never have been the Bee Gees success if not for The Beatles knocking down the door. They realised The Beatles were doing exactly what they had been doing only at an age ten years younger than The Beatles! Ringo and Mo were close buddies. John gave him a guitar for his birthday. Paul asked Robin to speak about composing at McCartney's Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts that he created in his home town. They exchanged a mutual admiration. Such a shame that three of the brothers never made it to 64. 😥 The McCartney Tribute was to a variety of his songs. Billy Joel (Maybe I'm amazed), Willie Nelson (Yesterday), Bob Dylan (Things we said today), Alice Cooper (Eleanor Rigby), Yusuf Islam AKA Cat Stevens, (The long and winding road), Chrissie Hynde (Let it be) etc.
