Who in FUCK'S name would've ever guessed that Bill fucking Hader of all people would make a one of the best shows of all time about morality, forgiveness, hatred, and taking responsibility for your actions?!

I never noticed it before, thanks to this edit Gene Training Barry for that audition is low key Barry's story...in 4 seasons(Audition had 4 scenes) With 3rd season ending with Barry eating Shit Pie himself(get caught) and scene 4 is digging two graves which is what Gene did in end of the show

You messed up, but you took responsibility for it.

This is my favorite show of all time Bill Hader has so much range amazing actor comedian and impressionist!

“Barry” for me is dark humor at it’s peak. To blend so many tones so fluidly is amazing. The final scene itself is a dark joke. Barry is remembered as tragic hero manipulated by his teacher despite the murders he committed, while Gene is seen as this cold master manipulative monster. The truth is they were both very flawed individuals who’ve made bad mistakes. It’s so dark and bleak but you can’t help but laugh at the absurd way Hollywood has romanticized it into a die hard style action film.

This is probably the best Barry tribute I’ve seen

Bill Hader has always been my favorite at whatever he does, SNL player, impressionist, bit part actor in legendary comedy movies. And now he’s one of the most exciting directors out. What a fucking G lol

I loved the ending, and it plays with your expectations in a good way. Just like in the real world, sometimes the expected outcome isn’t what actually happens. It still feels narratively satisfying and makes sense to me

i think its meant to hollow you a bit. these people kept getting their cake & eating it too, eventually twisted fates have to be twist. from the start its been about bad behavior and every party got everything they ever wanted and feared. as soon as barry is finally ready to change (only it is impartial, being he only chose to after realizing he lost his lover & son) it is too little, too late. starting, now. oh, wow.

I love this show sm

In my eyes Barry redeemed himself. He knew the right thing to do was to turn himself in and was thus going to do so😔. The movie, full honors, his son becoming better then him/not following his path and seeing him as a hero, and the heroic status he got in eyes of society is the cherry on top despite it being a total lie which falls in line with the hilarious and dark tone of the show. Even in death, Barry got everything he ever wanted. Forever remembered as a hero, and forever loved by all.

Great tribute. I like your use of the music from the Season 4 trailer. There are a very few shows like Barry that switch tones from comedic to dramatic and in reverse seamlessly. That make me laugh, fill me with terror, and leave me speechless with its brilliance. Bill Hader blew me away more times than I can count. I wish him the best in his post-Barry future.

I love your edits so much, thank you for this beautifully put together tribute for one of my favorite shows.

I finished the whole series just to watch this video... Man, you are doing this job very well.
