Great cars these, my Grandfather bought on of these new for his 84th Birthday, and I used to drive him to the Heath Hospital in Cardiff to visit his girlfriend when she was in there, as a bit of a long drive for him on his own, great drivers cars. He had a 900 prior, and stuck with Saabs after years of BMW's prior, and luckily had a 900i when he was 93, as his last car when a driver pulled out of a side junction right in front of him and almost took the front of the car off. He reckoned any other make, he'd ha e been killed and he took it as a big hint to give up driving (not long prior, he'd been in the front passenger seat of his Son's Volvo Estate, when a lorry pulled out to overtake right in front of them, Auntie driving, my Mother and kids in the back, all got put without a scratch, lorry driver exited the lorry through the windscreen had minor injuries and recovered OK. I think Brandad thought, really lucky twice, next time no luck left, so he retired from the business as well. Shame really, he'd been driving since 1914, and had never had an accident, never took a driving test, and got grandfathered in for a driving licence, same for a Pilot's Licence from the RFC in WW1. He was one of the best drivers I have ever been a passe ger in a car with tbh. RIP Grandad. Got a bit fed up at 97, after his girlfriend died, all his WW1 pals gone, so checked out early. Joined RFC at age 16, gunner in a two seat fighter, survived his pilot Chum getting killed, and became a Bomber Pilot, and post WW1 Iccupation Forces in Germany, where he had more fun than anyone was entitled to according to him. Fond emories I must admit. Best wishes. Bob. 🤔👍

My 900 SE was in a shed for just over 12 years, till last summer. I put in a new battery, staarted first time (even had 12 year old fuel in it), and drove it to a garage for an MOT and service...passed, now a daily driver!

My brother worked with a lad who stuck his Dad's auto 900 in 1st instead of reverse. Wiped their garage wall out and then drive it to work. So I decided a Saab would be the safest thing for my young family. My 1st 900 was a rare G reg 4 door saloon. One owner, fsh, barely run in, all for 600 quid. Bought another 11 Saab's after that. Decent ones are quite rightly fetching decent money. Will be watching your channel with even more intest than before. 👌

Using easy starts a bit dodgy on old cars mate, it creates a very violent explosion, better just with a bit of petrol chucked in, put it in gear, jack it up and gently rock the wheel, saying no water in is a good thing (?) it just means it's leaked out somewhere. With you having a lot on I'd just get it running, clean it up and sell it as a running driving project for an enthusiast.

Wow, great content. Saab 900 turbo convertible. I used to have the 3 door hatch, sadly not with us any longer. These are absolutely incredible on fast roads, especially when turbo kicks in at 3000rpm. Solid as a rock, and built to last. Great find, please do not sell. Keep it and bring it back to its original condition, make plenty of videos work your doing to it. Look forward to the next one on this car. Thanks again.

Great car, I own one. The ‘aftermarket’ thing is oem Lucas (the dark Prince) and the two red wires you point to are to do with the aircon - they are there even when you don’t have air con for some reason. Rust is predictable what kills these cars, every thing use power bullet proof.
