Спорт

Order these extremely cheap broadheads off Ebay. After testing flight and hitting a rock with very little damage after missing a groundhog...

I bought a Blackcat a few months ago and have really liked it up till the past few weeks. I’m getting a random 2in left and maybe 1in high from time to time. Might shoot three arrows perfect then I get the wild flyer. I can shoot the same arrow and get different results each time. I have tried a different arrow from my quiver and same thing. I have my cocking rope marked to make sure it’s cocked straight and I’ve checked every bolt to make sure it’s tight. It’s driving me up the wall 😂 I seen you do a lot of tinkering with these recurve crossbows and was wondering if you had any ideas I could try.

My experience is that the Blackcat arrow tray may not let an arrow lay flat consistently. My arrow tray/stock is the old Recruit stock with a Blackcat 165 lbs bow on it. I put a 2nd set of toothbrush bristles on it with a small hose clamp and trimmed the bristles down a little. Mainly did it to keep heavy arrow setups from flopping around, but, it may help with your arrow laying flat more consistently. I shoot aluminum arrows with tradition fixed blade type broadheads. Carbon arrows fly weird with fixed blade heads. Shooting heavier points can help with more consistent flight as well. In addition, the Barnett aluminum arrows are straight fletch. They shoot small 3 blades ok, but if you use a lighted nock, accuracy goes south. I had to put helical feathers on them to get accuracy back.

@@Kurtdog63 thanks for the reply. I’ll give that a try and see what I come up with. I like the idea of a little more point weight as well. Gotta get this figured out before deer season gets here !!

@@Kurtdog63 I’ll check em out. They look sweet for the price !!! I think I finally figured out what was wrong with mine. I took it apart after work and found the bow wasn’t centered in the stock after checking everything with a tape measure. The factory alignment mark on the bow was off by almost an 1/8. Took it outside and tested it and my arrows are flying great out to 40yds now.

@@davidgunter633 Ha. Forgot to mention that. I had sighted my old Barnett Recruit in and it was hitting great. Right before a hunt, I tested a few shots and the accuracy was off! Then I noticed, the bow bolt was loose! Tightened it back and it was back on!

FOC is better with plain nock, but I don't want to give up the lighted nock. The light is just too valuable for video tracking the flight in low light, and to see where the arrow impacts an animal.
