Lovely car . Monsoon car hoods in sussex do lovely replacement hoods . Did one for my saab 93 aero convertible . Wernt cheap but excellent quality and fit . Cant wait for the next installment on this .

Chris, your channel is a genuine pleasure to watch. I loved the Cabriolet Clipper's when they came out, and IMO, the Mk. 1 GTI was the best of the lot. It's a great car to restore, and I know you and Rob will do a fantastic job!

Hi Rob, I've been watching the channel for 18 months and I'm a massive fan, the quality of the work you and Chris produce is top class so I just wanted to say a massive thank you to you and Chris for keeping us all entertained week in week out. big congratulations on the 200K keep up the fab work.

Congratulations on the 200k achievement, you have earned the weekend, now enjoy it with your nearest and dearest. The Golf deserved the work you are doing after surviving this far, but it has been quite a lot of work just getting the parts together. The engine sounded reassuringly good, after sitting so long, engines hate being left for too long. The way the job is going, this could almost end up being a heritage quality item, though the bodywork has its odd demand still to put on your time. It should earn a price that recognises its rising rarity value.

Used to have a 2 door red mk 2 , got rid of it for scrap in 2006. I really regret it now. All the memories are flooding back watching this. Prices are through the roof and rising.

It was a fantastic drive in the golf. The other one was the maestro, once I had the cpu taken out and added manual choke, it was a very good runner and a good work horse.Very underestimated car.
