Being a Baritone and being able to sing Nessun Dorma as incredibly well as any Tenor would do... That's simply amazing. He completely SLAYED the last High B note.

I don’t know - I am also a Baritone and I am also to sing it (no - not even close as good as him). There are few tenors, which just can sing it well. Probably because of the vocal range. It is easier to get the high notes (with training) than to sing quite low (where Baritones have just an advantage).

바리톤중에도 하이체내는분들이 많지요~^^ 고성현 최현수~~그리고 다른분들도요^^ 바리톤이 테너노래를 하면안되는이유가 전율이 오지않기때문이지요 그 음정은 나지만 특유의테너가 불렀을때 감동이없으니까요~~^^

@@smailik5749 Nope you are wrong. he does not sound anything like a lyric baritone. Listen to Thomas Hampson, Simon Keenlyside, Russel Braun, etc these are lyric baritones. Listen to their voices, the timber, the color and the ease of high notes and then come back to me.

@@smailik5749 Look, you are comparing apples and oranges. It is impossible for anyone in modern times to know beyond reasonable doubt how Titta really sounded like, that does not mean he was not a dramatic baritone. We cannot use the old LP recordings on youtube to say their voices are very different or alike. For example listen to Robert Merrills live tv broadcasting performances and then listen to his recordings and you might say those are not the same singer. Recordings messed a lot of singers true quality of sound. Also, Ruffo and Kim would never sound alike because they come from two different schools of singing. Italian baritones during Ruffo's time did not interpolate high notes even in arias such as Ezzio's Cavaletta "E giatta la mia sorte." Trust me I wrote my thesis on the subject. One more thing, for the love of God (Verdi). It is Dramatic Baritone not dram baritone.

Basically the tone determines whether he is a tenor/baritone/bass. Ettore Kim has over 3 octaves of range so he can sing any part but his tone is definitely a baritone and his best pick songs are all for baritone.

Haha ! You do not know enough my good sir. First, I myself am a dramatic baritone with a range from bass F to tenor high C. In fact, Baritones have high notes better than a tenor we just cannot live up there all the time. Can we sing one performance of Calaf one night you bet you ass we can. Listen to Leonard Warren sing a High C and then get back to me.

@@conciencia21 a baritone may be can sing high notes like tenor but they dont have they squilo or ring in the top notes like a tenor will have for exable in high c tenor will sound more powertfull and squilo than a baritone without mic ofc

@@MrPanzosgr what Baritones have you heard singing high notes without sqillo? In fact, a Baritone High C has more chest voice with a darker sound and brilliance that cuts throu orchestras. Listen to Piero Capucilli, Sherill Milnes and Antonio Salvadori sing "E gettata la mia sorte" it is a Cavaletta and has a high Bb along with a bunch of high Fs. he had a solid C, infact most true Dramatic Baritones have a better high Cs than most tenors in terms of quality and size we just do not have them to burn. Tenors have more high Cs because that is where their natural voice lives. For example Juan Diego florez has high Cs to burn yet they are very nasal and small where as you have Corelli who did not have as many high Cs as Florez but they were phenomenal: Here is a sample of a live performance with Salvadori singing a high Bb with full orchestra and no mic tons of squillo and chest voice; just a massive Bb, trust me a tenor would be buried by the size and loudness of a Verdian orchestra : kzread.info/dash/bejne/rGdkkrKte6TRYKg.html here is Cappucilli: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mKN6yaWrl8zdn9I.html

It's pretty normal, especially for a baritone who's not supposed to sing a romanza like this, to do it this way. It's a "portamento", even Franco Corelli used many portamenti's when singing, although it's identified as an error if it's a long portamento, but I don't mind it, I actually like it!

Es un barítono, el timbre es más oscuro, el rango vocal se determina haciendo un análisis general de las notas que abarca cada tesitura, no significa que el barítono no pueda dar un La 4 o un Si 4 a partir del Do central del piano, cada persona tiene distinto rango vocal, y lo que determina una tesitura es el color de la voz no el rango vocal.

He's a dramatic tenor. I'm not sure what baritone everyone else is hearing. Hendrik Appels, Hans Beirer, Ludwig Suthaus, Alexei Steblyanko, Ramon Vinay, etc had darker voices than him, and they too were dramatic tenors. That's what a dramatic tenor is supposed to sound like, not some overloud character tenor that everyone thinks it is.

He's a Baritone. Singing the whole aria would take too much effort for his voice and it'd wreck it completely. You can see he reserved all his energy for the last High B note.
